Hi HubSpot Community,

We’re excited to share that the basic cloning functionality is now live to all! 🎉

To keep the momentum going, please continue the conversation by creating new Idea posts. This will help us capture upvotes on the most popular enhancement requests (such as a workflow action, permissions, and more).

Thank you all for continuing to share your feedback and helping us shape the future of this feature!

June 23, 2025 12:42 PM

Hi everyone,

Thank you for the continued discussion on this thread. I’d like to share an update on the enhancements we’ve made to address the most pressing needs.

Enhancements

  • Conditional properties are now supported: you can change the deal pipeline or stage during cloning, letting you split deals or tickets at clone time.

  • The cloned record now stores the source record’s name and record ID in Record source property 1 and Record source property 2. You can now set up a workflow to create an association between the source and cloned records, then copy any additional properties with the Edit record action.

Let’s keep the conversation going—please leave feedback in the in-app survey or in our form here.

Happy cloning!

Hi everyone,

Thank your for the contiuned discusssion on this thread. We are tracking each and every single feedback to help shape the future iterations of record cloning. So far, we have heard about a few key recurring themes.

  1. The need to "split deals" by allowing pipeline stage to be change at clone time (and the correct properties cloned depending on the stage)
  2. The need for a workflow action to automate the clone action
  3. The need to copy all propreties (and exclude some properties as an admin configuration)
  4. The need to copy all associations & activities beyond what's been configured in the record creation
  5. Auto associating source & cloned record.

I'm happy to share that we have made the decision to prioritize #1 today so you can expect an upgrade within this release.

For everything else, let's keep the conversation going. If any of these enhancements apply to your use-case, please tell us more. You can leave feedback in the in-app survey, through the beta update survey, or in our form here.

Hi HubSpot Community,

I'm Naz from HubSpot's product team, and I have great news! Our product team has prioritized Record Cloning in 2025. We'll keep you posted as we make progress toward this goal. Hey HubSpot Community,
Here to share an un-fun update. We explored Cloning Deals in the second half of 2023 but are not ready to execute yet. Projects like this seem easy on the surface, but both technical and customer experience implications really matter. We're committed to providing the best experience, and sometimes that means taking extra time to do so. I know this is still a pressing need, and plan to make strides this year. In the meantime, as folks on this thread have mentioned, either using a workflow or an app like Deal Duplicator are your, admittedly not perfect, best options.

Hi HubSpot Community great news! Our product team is prioritizing this feature and actively working on a solution. To help us better understand what exactly you'd like to clone (e.g. properties, associations, activities), could you please take this short survey? Thank you!

*Update: Survey link has been fixed, please let me know if you're still not able to access it.

Hello HubSpot community,

Thank you for your continued feedack here. I wanted to provide an update on the status of this idea. Cloning a deal is absolutely on a list of things we’d like to do. However, the list is long and time and resources are limited, so building this functionality is ultimately a question of priorities, and this is a lower priority compared to some of the other things we’re working on right now. We're continuing to keep an eye on the use cases provided in this idea and are always re-evaluating our top priorities, I'll be sure to update this thread when this is a more near-term priority.

How is this still not implemented? This is a basic feature, which saves a lot of time and effort!

Hey @Courtneyymn , submissions for cloning a ticket and cloning a deal already exist, so rather than creating a new submission, how about you add your upvote to the below submissions. Hopefully Hubspot will listen to us all soon 🙄

This is a major time-suck for my team. They receive deals that have multiple sites that are all exactly the same. Deal cloning is a vital and core feature of a CRM. I hope the product team will prioritize this, as it doesn't seem that wild of an ask. There is a clone feature on so many other vital items in Hubspot.

It's totally not making sense at all that deal duplication is not a basic feature in hubspot. Already developed 3rd party deal cloning apps are clear reason that users need that feature, and surprisinly it's not free in hubspot even other CRMs are supporting it as basic feature. It's really ridiculous.

I am not sure why this is marked as resolved, all the Proposed solutions required workarounds using workflows, and or using third party solutions to enable this functionality, where it is a basic tools to be able to duplicate deals. This can be for re-curring orders, orders of similar types etc and this should extend to line items as well.

I need my sales team to be able to copy deals quickly, and without going into areas of Hubspot that are not relevant to them. It is not the role of my sales team to do this, nor should I have time in our sales operations . enablement to have to do this amount of work everytime to copy a deal.

Hi @ALucas0,

Thank you for the feedback and for explaining your use case.

I would encourage you to upvote this related idea in the Ideas Forum and comment why this feature would be useful for your team.

Our product team, who monitors the forum regularly, can read your specific use case and understand why this would be a useful functionality or change. It also helps other customers facing the same issue to advocate for its implementation on your behalf by upvoting on the thread as well.

Thank you,

Kristen

This should be an absolute priority because it is necessary for both Sales and Customer Success. We are now trying to use Hubspot as our main customer success management hub and being able to clone deals so we can easier manage information from Y1 to Y2 would be invaluable. The current copying process is not good enough because it takes too long to set up, especially because you have to choose every single thing you want transferred over. A cloning option would save a lot more time and resource in the long run. @ybaptiste any chance that there as been movement on this in the last few months?

How is this not a basic function? How much more feedback do you need before this is implemented? Very frustrating to say the least and all the more reason to move to Salesforce or another CRM.

Our controller was up until nearly 2:00am in the morning finishing the week's long work of manually duplicating ALL of our major subscription renewal deals in our Hubspot instance for 2023. Why? (1) Because creating a deal manually one-year in advance is not something sales reps typically do given how much work it is, and they post once closed. (2) Because she needs the pipeline information for forecasting. This would be a non-issue with cloning. She's a single mom and will be back at the grind this AM. Our team appreciates her effort, but it's so frustrating b/c virtually every other CRM comes with Deal Cloning.

With all due respect to the Hubspot team, this feature is more important to every sales team in the subscription renewal space than "team goals," "deal overlays," and especially, "color coding the deals board."

Sharing for Hubspot's consideration.

Shocked that after so many years Hubspot still refuses to fix this. I say "fix" because to me, this is basic CRM functionality. It's like if you created a new word processing system (like MS Word) that didn't support cut and paste.  Having used many sales CRM systems in my 20+ year long sales career, this is the first time I've ever seen a system that can't clone a deal. And yes, I understand how, given the database structure, it's not easy to implement. But I'm sorry, it's utterly unacceptable to not have it.

We regularly create new Deals for the same customers. Currently that means filling in all the Deal info for each new Deal from scratch.

It would be great if we could simply create a copy of a previous Deal for a customer, and then change only the new or different details that apply to the new Deal.

It would save our sale people a load of time.

We are waiting for this functionality too. It is frustrating to rely on third party solutions for something that basic.

It's not the best solution, but I've been starting to import deals to Hubspot. Just add deals to excel sheet, name them like "Campaign x 1/12" "Campaign x 2/12" and so on. You can easily copy and clone rows in excel, and also import different customers deals at the same time. Much more easier, than creating deals one-by-one in Hubspot.

THIS BASIC FUNCTIONALITY NEEDS TO BE ADDED.  WE HAVE A LOT OF REOCCURRING RENEWALS AND WASTE A LOT OF TIME WITHOUT THIS FUNCTIONALITY.

Me too! Takes me hours each season to recreate deals.

Just to put it out there, we are creating/cloning deals using a workflow.  It isn't a perfect solution, but it sure helps, especially when you have recurring revenue type deals and there are over 100 of them!

@BFielding Would you be open to sharing the workflow structure you use?
