Cloning a Deal

Need to be able to clone an individual deal. This is helpful for recurring revenue organizations and building MRR. Please! Smiley Happy

I think it is a necessary feature. I am waiting for the update.

+1 yes please; I'm boggled every time I'm reminded that I can't clone a deal when pretty much everything else in HubSpot is cloneable (and thank you for that!).

this requirement seems to have been open for a long time with no resolution - a clone/ duplicate feature for deals is vital to move between pipelines

Yeah, we're speaking with reps at salesforce where this is possible

Hi, I'm having a problem using 3rd party apps for deals, and want the functionality as standrad with Hubspot.

A regular, no-fuzz Clone Deal button - Please.

@kman do you have any update on this? Thanks!

I have not heard anything from Hubspot on this, but we have found a work around where we created a property associated with a deal called "Copy Deal Trigger" and when this is set to "yes" (defaults to "no") then a workflow triggers the creation of a new deal that copies many of the properties of the existing deal.

can you tell us which properties it does not update?
line items?

Hey Courtneyymn! I know this thread is a bit old but we have an app called Clone Attack that would be perfect for you! It allows you to duplicate deals and tickets with just a few clicks. It also lets you choose what fields you want carried over to the duplicate. Check it out here.

If you need help installing or getting set up, let me know! I’d be happy to hop on a call with you.

Best,

I will never understand how it is possible to not have a deal clone button.

Deals are one of the most crucial pieces of information we manage with Hubspot. We create and move deals around, so it seems only natural to need a clone feature for deals. Why is this functionality not considered important by the Hubspot team? Are we missing something? Why do we have to rely on third-party tools or search for obscure solutions for something so simple?

If someone were to write the history of CRMs, this would undoubtedly be one of the biggest mysteries...

Yes, please prioritize this request please. It's something that will help adoption rate with our organization I believe. Today it is just too cumbersome to work with deals in many small ways.

I agree with all the comments here.  Cloning deals is extremely important and a core feature that is needed. Our company has requested that this feature be prioritized since we started using HubSpot and we have no concrete answer as to when this will be available.

please provide an update on this.

it's very frustrating that this isn't a basic feature.

We had this ability in Salesforce and need to be able to clone new programs (a custom object) for companies who send us several customers whose programs are nearly the same. It is taking us a lot more time to schedule people because we cannot simply clone the object, change a field and save. Thank you!

Hi CBryson,
I have given up hope that HubSpot will implement a cloning feature. I've been complaining about it for years and I've never heard anything from them. The only solution I can think of that might work for your situation is to create an import template in Excel for each project type and/or customer and put the new info in it rather than HubSpot (with all other fields being prepopulated with info that doesn't change) and then import the Excel file into HubSpot. So as an example, rather than typing in, say 20 data points into the HubSpot interface, you open the Excel file, type in 3 unique data points with the other 17 common datapoints already being filled in, and then importing the Excel file into HubSpot.
Just a thought.

Hi dmsmith , thank you for the info. This solution would be more trouble than just re-entering the properties in our particular case; however, I appreciate your response and the idea. Hopefully we can keep the pressure on for this one. Other CRMs do this natively, yet in HS even the apps from the app store can't do it on custom objects because there is no ability to put a card on a custom object. We are talking with our onboarding specialist today and will bring up this time-saving and simple capability.

Yes please, we also need this as a feature.  It feels like it is missing from the Assign, Edit, Delete, Create Tasks options when an Admin selects a deal.  We have been waiting a long time for this option.
