Cloning a Deal

Need to be able to clone an individual deal. This is helpful for recurring revenue organizations and building MRR. Please! Smiley Happy

Update from @JoeMayallDue to a technical error on HubSpot’s end, this thread has an inflated upvote count. As of June 10th, 2020, we estimate this thread has around 500 upvotes. I'll continue to update this count as the thread receives upvotes."

@ybaptiste Thank you for the update on Cloning a Deal. However, I have to say that I am disappointed, if not appalled, at the other Deal priorities that you are investing your resources on. If we are spending tons of time trying to do the basics, there's not much time to even think about or enjoy these other 'high-impact features' that you are working on. I'd like to ask that you reconsider your priorities.

I realize that working on cloning a deal isn't as much fun as these other features...but as a user with limited resources, I can't imagine ever using these other features. BTW-Who do you talk to to help you prioritize new features?

Thanks for your reconsideration.

I couldn’t agree more! Who sets these priorities? A basic function should come first!

@ybaptiste  The recommended workflow does clone the product line items or notes or any other object, just copy deal to deal properties which is a huge problem.

(You can use workflows to create a new deal and copy data from the existing deal. )

There is a third-party app" clone attack" that clones it pretty well but why do I have to pay additional fees per month for a basic feature that Salesforce and even Zoho CRM have.

Leaving a comment after years of silence in which you indicate that other features has a higher impact thats ridiculous! Maybe commercial wise Hubspot can earn more money with these other features? But let's be honest: cloning a deal in every CRM system must be a standard functionality right? I

n addition to the response of  Evans4316: Who sets the priorities? Who or which customers group does Hubspot talk with? How many upvotes are neccessary for Hubspot to actually build this feature (at the moment more than 1.500 already)?

Finally: you don't have to thank al these people/customers in this topic for 'making Hubspot a better tool' because you leave all the customers out in the cold simply by doing nothing! Perhaps Hubspot can adopt a new slogan in the future: 'Just do it'.

COME ON HUBSPOT... WHERE IS THE RESPONSE TO THE THOUSANDS OF UPVOTES FOR THIS FEATURE.  I started this idea over 5 years ago and instead of correcting (and lowering the upvotes), why don't you just respond to all your users with what the plan is.   This is ABSOLUTELY ridiculous that you haven't addressed this issue.  Your lack of response and communication on this issue is truly unacceptable.   As the recent user comment noted "Just do it"!!   We're not talking rocket science here!!!!

Some of our deals recur weekly or fortnightly so the deal cloning feature is essential for productivity.

We spent hours testing a workflow to create recurring deals. It was unstable. After the first two or three recurring deals, the deal got stuck and could not move to the next step of the workflow even though the conditions were met. For those recurring deals that the workflow created, the line items were not copied over so the workaround that @ybaptiste mentioned is quite limited.

It's surprising that an idea receiving over a thousand upvotes remains unplanned. Please consider prioritizing this.

we have reoccuring opportunities - being able to clone them would save us a ton of time and also ensure consistency. this request is from 2017, has there been any movement to if this will be incorporated?

Apparently, they do but they make you pay to add this on! Unbelievable

Seriously all these replies about a 3rd party app.  Kudos to you all for creating the app that bridges the functionality app, but this thread shouldn't be a sales pitch.  This is really unimpressive in terms of base funtionality within the CRM.

This is the easiest feature to add, and for 1,536 users who need this, why can't you just smuggle it in? Imagine having to create -- from scratch -- a new deal that captures all the key subscription renewal information every single time? Please get this done. Hubspot's amazing... why your team is neglecting this is a total mystery.

Regan hit the nail on the head. It's a critical feature to make the platform more usable.  Recreating deals is cumbersome and manual.  If you are asking users, I would think this should be a higher priority than color coding dashboards

Taking a screenshot from another CRM I use, it should be this simple:

I really want to like HubSpot.  It's very simple to use and has an intuitive UI, but it's very obvious this solution started out as a marketing-focused CRM platform. Cloning a deal is a very basic feature, especially in a SALES-focused CRM.  Unfortunately, HubSpot is very much a MARKETING-focused CRM. The solution is so good in many ways, but really needs some basic improvement for SALES.  I would suggest either hiring someone who has a sales leadership background or tapping into clients who have deep sales leadership backgrounds to help w/ product feedback.  This would ultimately help HubSpot in larger organizations where the needs for more robust sales features is critical and CRM decisions are driven by sales leadership/ops and not marketing.

I agree! They need someone who understands the nuts and bolts of processing
sales, managing deals, etc.

I know this is a little off-topic...for example, I have a selected set of
deals ...or even one... that I want to set up a sequence for. I can't do
that with HBS because HBS only grabs the most recent deal and not
necessarily the one I want to set up a sequence for. So so frustrating!

This cannot be upvoted enough. Why isn't this a native feature without having to pay extra???

Hi HubSpot team! I also would love the feature to clone an existing Sales Deal. My team often creates deals that have all the same property information except for a number of dates or small details, and it would be greatly appreciated to add this feature into HubSpot so we do not need to manually reenter many details into an entirely new deal. Thanks for considering this feauture request!!

Hi. It would be great if we can clone existing deals and support tickets. Currently there are other capabilities (merge, delete, etc.) but it would be super beneficial to clone a deal or ticket. This would increase speed to use within the application because often times we are creating multiple deals or tickets which have the same required fields and it takes FOREVER to fill them from scratch each time. Thank you!

How is this still not implemented? This is a basic feature, which saves a lot of time and effort!

Hey @Courtneyymn , submissions for cloning a ticket and cloning a deal already exist, so rather than creating a new submission, how about you add your upvote to the below submissions. Hopefully Hubspot will listen to us all soon 🙄
