Clone Deal Pipelines

DCL

Hubspot Team,

Would be great to be able to clone Deal Pipelines or have Deal Pipeline templates as many of our pipelines are similar and now we are manually reacreating pipelines that are simlar or identiacal to other pipeleines.

Thanks,

Hi everyone,

I’m a product manager at HubSpot and I'm very pleased to announce that this feature has been Delivered to all Pro/Enterprise customers. See how to clone pipelines for more information.

We could not have built this feature without your help. Thank you all for taking the time to submit, vote and comment on this Idea.

Also, in case you missed it: you can already clone individual records.See Knowledge Base article

👋 Hello fellow community members!

I'm excited to share that we're currently running a private beta for a new pipeline cloning feature. While the beta is temporarily paused, we’re actively working to include support for custom pipeline workflows before resuming access.

If you’re interested in trying out this feature, you can still request to join this beta now. Once support for custom workflows is ready, we’ll begin approving new participants.

Cheers,
Jeannie

Hi all, thanks for sharing your feedback. I'm seeing two different requests in the comments:

  1. Ability to clone a pipeline
  2. Ability to clone a record (i.e. deal)

For the first one (original idea), I'm curious to understand why you'd want to clone a pipeline. If you have two pipelines with the exact same stages, we don't recommend separating the pipelines, as outlined in this Knowledge Base article. That's the best practice for segregating pipelines, especially if you want to avoid hitting your pipeline limit.

@DCL Thanks for your follow up! There are a few important things to consider here:

1. Things that seem easy may not be. There may be downstream implications in other part of the product or unforseen technical challenges to work through.
2. There are a certain number of resources available to all of us (engineering, hours in a day, etc.). In order to be effective we need to increase focus on the work that benefits our customers most. There are hundreds of ideas on the forum worthy of consideration, but in order to build a great product we cannot work on all of them.
3. For everything we add to HubSpot, we are adding to the list of things our customers need to understand to use the system. With this comes an increased maintenance cost.

It's not that this idea will never be delivered. Instead, I wanted to be as transparent as possible that this is not something we plan to deliver in the immediate future.

Hello HubSpot Community,

Thank you as always for your continued feedback, it helps us build a great product.

We are constantly evaluating and re-evaluating our priorities and roadmap to deliver as much value to our customers as possible. At this time cloning a pipeline
is not something our team is currently planning to build natively into HubSpot. This is certainly subject to change in the future and we will update this idea if that becomes the case.

Any word, is cloning a deal pipeline available?

Totally agree. All of our Sales Pipelines have the same 6 deal stages, so it's just extra work to have to re-create them for each new Pipeline created.

It would save us manual work if we were able to clone both:

1 - Deal pipelines, &

2 - Deals

It's 2019 and this feature is not available.

Seriously. Why does it take 2 years to make a change like this?

Time is ticking people.... why is this not there? Should be a very simple implementation!

No progress?

Completely agree with all of this. My pipelines have a lot of stages and automation associated with each stage. I need the same stages and automation for different pipelines because of different types of clients. It would be great to clone a pipeline and it's associated automation rather than having to spend hours manually duplicating the same pipeline over and over.

It has been two years since this idea was first proposed.  Has Hubspot addressed this in any way?

We have courses that run every month and we have a pipeline for each month, we have to create these all manually and they are always the same with only a tweak in the date, I have searched Google and everything says that this feature is required but does not exist. One post said that there is an idea here but that URL does not exist. This is a feature that seems like a no brainer 🙂

I'm a crm veteran who just started using Hubspot.  It is pretty impressive, but I seriously am really surprised that you can't duplicate a pipeline.  Definitely +1 for this request!

YES!  We need this function as well!

I need to be able to clone ticket pipelines, too.

@hubspot how many people have to request this?
+1 for me as well

You can do this via the workflow tool.  I was previously doing it via the API, but its actually pretty easy to clone a deal (for ex. create a "duplicate this deal" field and then set the workflow criteria to kick-off when the value of that field is "Yes."  The workflow actions are then to create a new deal and copy fields from the original deal to the deal that is created.  You can do it all through the GUI interface.  When you create the new deal set the "duplicate this deal" field to "No" on the deal that is created.

@zbelcher I want to clone the whole pipeline with all the stages and workflows, not the individual workflows within the stages. We have long pipelines which are similar in many stages but have significant differences. It is a real pain to rebuild the entire thing.

I think the same could be said for service pipelines!

Really this would be valuable on any feature, be it individual record, pipeline or workflow. From the record side, it would be a great way to copy over historicals to a new database schema (say you're updating your pipeline process while the legacy version is still being utilized during transition) while maintaining data integrity in the legacy system.

Common hubbie's this is an easy internal workflow (clone the pipeline). Would say me a bunch of time wince i create piplelines by year.
