Check Line items on Closed Won deals

Hi. We need a way to catch if the sales team have not selected Line Items in latter deal stages in the pipeline, particularly Closed Won/Sales.  There doesn't seem to be any way to do this currently in a deal-based workflow - using 'associated line item' means it DOES have a line item attached to it.  Can this be looked into?

This would be helpful no matter what stage. We use deals to forecast and we aren't able to really see if a deal is missing the line items in reporting. It just doesn't get accounted for because the rep didn't update the information. It would be great to be able to see if any are missing line items. 


Related, but also checking to make sure that the line item totals match the deal properties on a continuous basis (using workflows, presumably).
