Our AMs are measured on GP/Margins rather than revenue.
Obviously, this means numbers are wrong if the line items in a deal aren't correctly added, with Price and Cost etc. Sometimes, though, these things happen.
Therefore, I've created a custom property for deals, GP Amount. This is just a numbers field that must be filled manually. When we create deal splits, we also need to split the GP between the split owners. And here is my suggestion:
It should be possible to calculate a GP split based on the Deal Split percentage, but it seems for caclulations (both in properties and workflows), it's not possible to pull numbers from other objects. Please recitfy this!
I would like this too -- we use Hubspot for Real Estate and we have created a custom number object in our Deals properties, called "GCI" (Gross Commission Income). This is the total commission made on a purchase or sale of property. On the deal split component, there are buyer agents and seller (listing) agents. When the listing agent (seller) does not bring the buyer, the GCI is split with the buyers' agent. Currently, the only way to split deals is based on the "total" field.
Also, I'd like to re-name that total field, so that it's relevant and contextual to the business. Here, the title would something like "Sale / Purchase Price" as this relates to the total amount of the sale or purchase of the property and is important to capture. THis total amount has an influence on the GCI, which is the revenue (margin?) coming into our company. I've also added a field to track the % of commission, to help calculate the GCI. Both of these custom objects are manual entry for now, but I'd rather that be a calculation based on the % the reps are entering ... so it's automated entry based on the %.
