As we here use Zimbra as Groupware solution I would like to see an integration over CalDAV to sync the calendars of Hubspot (-users) and the groupware (-users). As CalDAV is a well-known and long established standard for exchanging events, I think this could be useful for some of you who does not rely on the big players like Google and Microsoft for your groupware-, mail- and calendar-needs but use smaller (and more open) solutions like Zimbra, Kopano, Open-Xchange, Kolab, Horde etc.
Supporting the CalDAV standard would make Hubspot viable for many more of my customers who do not use Google or MS systems. It also could make checking for conflicts on my personal calendar possible. Calendly does this very well ensuring robust conflict checking across all essential calendars.
Along with a Thunderbird <> HubSpot Sales Extension plugin, CalDAV and CardDAV Support for synching calendar and contacts data would be one of the most valuable improvements to HubSpot for us. We're not relying on either Microsoft or Gmail tools but on self-hosted mail servers and Nextcloud for groupware and calendar features. Supporting free, open-source tools and standards like CalDAV, CardDAV and Thunderbird would make HubSpot an even better CRM solution, especially for small businesses and startups that either can't afford business solutions from big players like Microsoft and Google from the beginning or do not want to rely on these companies for privacy or whatever other reasons.
CalDAV would make Hubspot accessible to many businesses in many different ways. I still hope that this feature will be added soon so that companies are not forced to use Gmail or Office365 or generally skip the calendar functions.
I am currently working with the brand that represents the Zimbra solution here in Brazil. That said, unfortunately we cannot use standard providers that have native integration for the following reasons: - 1 Ethical issue - 2 You trust the product you sell and do not see the need, nor as stated in reason 1, to purchase a standard provider just to integrate your email and meeting calendar to use the account's scheduling solutions. As a result, he has an emergency situation in his team's sales and scheduling processes without proper monitoring. In addition, of course, to all other Zimbra customers who currently have a Hubspot account and cannot connect and integrate their calendar control synchronized with their provider.
Please consider this subscription as a priority because today we have several companies in Brazil that are not Google or Microsoft and are limited in the tool. This specific customer is even thinking about canceling the account due to this problem, so if there is any other solution that could help, I am here to listen. Furthermore, I hope that the product area addresses this subscription as a priority as soon as possible.
I have a Zimbra client that currently is evaluating hubspot
its 1300+ users, and I'm appalled that we cannot connect calendars or even inbox. The client has the ActiveSync function active and in most devices he can configure their zimbra using a exchange (emulation) configuration but not with hubspot, it wont accept any configuration. Imagine my suprise when hubspot itself "recommends you change your mail provider to google or m365".
In a diverse world marketplace, its suprising to find a provider that would support monopolic practices, instead of providing an easy CALDAV conection they call you to change your provider. I see this thread is old and I dont hope for a quick solution for this. Trully sad I'm going to recomend my client to evaluate a different CRM solution, just like hubspot called for a different mail provider.
