Business Card Scanner - Save Photo of Scanned Card
It would be great for the scanned photo of the card to be saved as a note or something on the contact's record so that one can always look back at the scan to see whether any information was inputted incorrectly or not.
Having tried out the scanner a few times, it often will get some things just slightly off, like a letter or more wrong - so the ability to look back at the scan to confirm its accuracy would be of great benefit.
Looks like a lot of people want this feature. Seems logical to capture the image taken and automatically attach it to the contact record that is being created.
Agree, this is very much needed! As well as the ability to bypass the check of data until later, would be fantastic when our busy sales department is at a trade fair, and our backoffice should just receive the business card pictures and complete the data.
I upvote this feature as well. HubSpot makes a note.
This contact was created from Offline Sources from Mobile Ios
But the card does not seem to be saved to the record, some a card I scanned 1 year ago. I would like to be able to see the picture. To recall more details about that person.
This is an ESSENTIAL FEATURE that is needed. My company just started using Hubspot and I was dumbfounded that not only does the Scanner App NOT Transfer important information like COMPANY NAME, STREET ADDRESS, or MAIN PHONE NUMBER, but you also can't import the image?? Both the scanner app and the contact page display of the scanner image need to be updated ASAP.
Also frustrated by this and have a customer who is really bewildered that this doesn't work better. We are looking at other apps. This one appears to have a strong HubSpot integration: https://www.scanbizcards.com/integrations/hubspot/ At least one mentioned here, ScanContacts for HubSpot, doesn't appear to be active/supported anymore.
Just had this conversation with a client. Not every scan is perfect, and having the images stored would help with auditing and correcting scans. Would love this!
Attending a tradeshow can represent thousands of dollars spent to collect leads. Having the ability to capture business card information is essential, especially when multiple groups from an exhibiting company are represented and maybe only one of them gets the physical card. The OCR capabilities are not very accurate, and human error is still a thing, so having this to doublecheck the veracity of the information would be an expected if not very nice to have capability.
After doing a ton of research and not finding anything better, my team decided to build an app to solve for this. It's a dedicated business card scanner for HubSpot called CardImporter. We just announced the alpha release today.
On the question of images, we need people's feedback on where and how they want the images stored:
Do you want them uploaded directly to HubSpot?
Do you want them embedded in the timeline event?
On the right side of the screen in a CRM card?
I think there is room to build this out further (e.g. audio notes, recording conversations and transcription, tagging specific events).
Please reach out if this is of interest to you and your team.
@harriskenny HarrisKenney - I like the concept but you need to add a field to import the company address as well as the company. Many of us deal with companies that have multiple locations and being able to tie that into Google Maps via Hubspot or other 3rd party app is important.
