I would love to be able to create a static or smart list of companies. Right now, you can create a list based on company fields, but it generates contact names, not companies.
Hey @BuySellAdsDave! We're actively working on it! But, in this case you could actually solve that problem pretty fast without lists. There's a setting in Settings --> Contacts & Companies --> Contacts called "Assign Company Owner to Contact by Default" which, if you toggle on, means you would only have to create a View of all the companies you want to change and then bulk edit the Company Owner field and it will filter down to all associated Contacts.
Hey everyone! I just wanted to make sure you're aware of the ability to create a View (which is essentially a list) of Companies in HubSpot. If you're looking to create a list of Companies to pass along to a rep or you just want to see how many companies in your Hubspot that use a particular technology or are in a certain industry, this is a good solution. You can even save these views for future use. Check it out here: https://knowledge.hubspot.com/articles/kcs_article/contacts/create-saved-filters
The only thing you can't do with a View is use a view in Automation. But, if you just want to see a list of Companies based on the properties attached to those Companies, this should do the job.
If you're new to the thread, I'm the Product Manager responsible for making HubSpot support a more account based approach. We're aware of these gaps and working actively to fill them. @ethankopit Hi, I will happily reply to a form, but that one is quite odd, it's not clear which fields to fill, and all users data can be seen be other users. So, that form is not for me. If you change the form please let me know. Thanks
This is a CRM we're paying for ....isn't it? I find it utterly unbelievable that we can't create a list of companies without contacts. This feature should have been added a long time ago.

would be great having the possibility to build lists of companies. To date, we can create only views on companies and we cannot use them in Workflows (Company-workflows).
Yes, I need the same. It is frustrating that everything works around contacts instead of companies. I need to create an active list of top targets according to a priority field I added. Otherwise I have to escort to Excel 🙁
We are a Chamber of Commerce, and it is essential to find the most active companies and the most inactive companies, based on contacts data (last e-mail opened, the last email read, web page visited etc.). I can not seme to do that today. List for companies, with the same features as lists for contacts, would solve all this, I think.
Still surprised this hasn't been handled. I'm working to do something as simple as assign Companies to a Static List, so that I could take everyone on that list and reassign the owner. I SHOULD be able to do this at the Company level, which would roll down to the Contacts (assuming I have that enabled of course), as with any other CRM.
Is there an ETA on this feature, or is it still being taken under consideration for future work?

Hubspot is very contact-oriented (ie. lists are contacts, workflow re-enrollment is much more contact friendly) and there are plenty of users in B2B or account-based industries where filtering companies is much more preferred than filtering contacts.
The lists tool should have two sections to it - filtering by companies and filtering by contacts.
