Making this an automatic option: Start syncing notes and comments to Jira.
This will help all our teams who work in HS and Jira to keep up to date with the latest notes and comments as we regularly work between the 2 systems.
We have workflows set up to auto-create Jira tickets, so the sync switch on step is not really a good/automatic option and not working for us. Additionally, our team has to remember to go into a ticket to switch on the sync which is manual considering the number of automated steps we have set up in HS to date.
You're correct and you would need to set property value under the pipeline automation or workflow whichever you created the JIRA workflow and set property value but unfortunately, it does not allow you to edit it because it is set automatically by HS which conflicts because it is not automatically synced every time we create a JIRA issue. 😞
I have (successfully) linked HubSpot to JIRA. I also have a workflow automatically creating a ticket in JIRA when a HubSpot ticket reaches a certain status.
I would like to enable Notes/Comments sync by default and the workflow does not allow setting that property. I have tried to enable it globally but it doesn't seem to work.
Upvote. This needs to be looked at seeing as 'Start/Stop Syncing Notes/Comments' is an action in Hubspot, I don't understand why this is a read only field in hubspot workflows. If we could update it through a worklflow it would be fine.
If you are willing to consider a third-party app, you can do this easily in Relay.app (disclaimer: I work there) - see the screenshot - it shows that whenever a new note is added on a HubSpot ticket, Relay will automatically look up the Jira ticket then add a comment on there. We also have a ton of other integrations on HubSpot and Jira if you are interested.
Audreyrelay, Will this relay.app automatically start syncing notes/comments once a Jira ticket has been created in HubSpot? This will remove the common human error that happens because team members have to remember to select actions and then click on start syncing notes/comments.
In addition, say you don't have your HubSpot set up where a Jira ticket is automatically created, you can also update the Relay playbook to automatically create a Jira ticket with all the relevant info from the HubSpot ticket as well.

Upvoting. I agree with the last comment. I can't seem to fathom how a business is to avoid items slipping through the cracks due to this not being available. This now requires one side of the business to have full access to the other which defeats the purpose of this integration.
