I'm finding it difficult to manage tasks related to Contacts who have been unenrolled from Sequence, whether due to email reply/call answered or an unsubscribe.
Ideally, when a Contact is unenrolled, HubSpot would delete any Sequence-related tasks.
I second this issue. If someone replies back I don't want to contact them because it's in my to-do list. The automated emails are not sending if unenrolled, but how do we get the related tasks to auto delete for that contact? Seems like an obvious result after being unenrolled.
This drives me crazy. I get that they unenroll, but the pending task is still out there. I've had multiple cases where a manual email is staged for me and I send it out because I'm rolling/in a rhythm. Leading me to send an email to someone I literally booked a demo with yesterday.
Why would you unenroll but leave a task active and include in the task flow? I can't think of a reason besides maybe making sure I don't miss their response and let the opportunity slip through the cracks. Great, have a way to show me that. Don't leave an active task out there for me to send accidentally.
The default should be - unenroll a user and delete their outstanding tasks related to that sequence.
Totally agree. I have started consulting for an organisation who uses Hubspot and the sequence process is similar to other systems, this is a critical miss from Hubspot. As per DToney's comment - if you, or another member of your team are trying to engage with a client and send the wrong email or have two tasks to do it can easily impact your brand if you giving the impression of spamming.
I have found the easiest way is to tick completed on the overdue email I don't want to send from the unrolled sequence and then continue actioning. Surely there is a better way Team Hubspot?
Just going to add to the other comments- I wouldn't say this would be a 'bonus' or 'nice' feature to have- I view it as essential and vital for our sales team to ensure success and to save time.
Let me add to this. This is a common feature in other sales automation tools. It forces salespeople to spend valuable time closing out unwanted tasks and runs the risk of time being wasted executing tasks that should not be actioned on. This seems to be a design oversight and should be rectified ASAP.
Please Please Please update this as a feature! Super essential for sales especially when dealing with hundreds of tasks to do already! I don't want to have to sift through all my tasks, I want to be able to get into a rhythm and not stress I am sending out an email etc. to someone unenrolled!
No brainer! Sequence-related tasks should be removed when contacts are unenrolled from said sequence...
Unless you designed your sequences poorly, I can't think of a single use case for keeping sequence-related tasks after unenrolling. If you do need a one-off task to avoid letting unenrolled contacts fall through the cracks - the system already gives you the option to create a one-off task each time after completing a sequence-related task.
This is needed right away. It is very easy to end up with a misstep. I can't see a situation where you would want an open task to remain once someone is removed from a sequence. Big engineering miss here!
Deleting these unwanted tasks is a waste of time for our users. It's cumbersome to create the right filters either on the tasks view or the contacts view. Since the properties on Tasks are limited, users usually use the Contacts views instead. However, this means that they have to open each contact record individually and delete the tasks one at a time.
This is a basic feature that should be implemented. It's counter-intuitive to automating processes when there is still manual work to be done. God forbid you have over 200 contacts in a sequence. Please fix this.
