Automatically associate emails to open deals and tickets

There are many issues/ideas referring to this issue. All of them addressing various components of the same problem. The ability to associate activity to a specific deal or ticket.

 

Currently, the system is configured in an all-or-nothing manner. If you want to automatically log an email to deals or tickets we have three choices. Automatically log emails to all deals or tickets regardless of if they are open or closed. Don't automatically log emails to any deals or tickets. And lastly, we can go through the list of all of the deals and tickets to find the right one and log it. This process affects everyone that interacts with contacts in the CRM and in some cases creates a significant backlog in work. 

 

We would like to reduce the amount of time people have to spend choosing where to log emails which helps efficiency but more importantly, if configured properly could really help reduce human error and provide for better database integrity. 

 

We would like to see the capability to set custom email logging options for Office 365 and Chrome extension to be able to automatically log outbound emails to deals or tickets that meet specific criteria. Such as: 

  • The ticket or deal is open or has been closed for less than ##-days.
  • The email is sent by a team member of the deal or ticket owner.
  • The email sender has a specific permissions role assign to them. 
  • This could have even more functionality if it is built out similar to the workflows enrollment criteria in the event that you need more advanced configurations. 

As @romi  has mentioned there are numerous other solutions such as Salesforce, Intercom, and many others that build a unique email address to manage ticket-specific emails and her team has developed a sound workaround to address these limitations. Limitations that really should not exist in HubSpot.

Well stated idea and a much-needed feature enhancement!
