Hey folks - Ethan here, product manager for the Product Library. Apologies for the missed quarter of updates. I want to let you know that this featureis noton our roadmap for this quarter (Q3, 2022). HOWEVER, we are actively doing research into how to enable a basic tax library that would be the foundation for something like this. I can't give you an exact deadline, but please know it's top of mind for us.
As a sidenote, I'll be updating the top Ideas associated with Products and Line Items ~once per quarter going forward. I will include (1) whether or not a feature is on the roadmap for that quarter or not and (2) what our rollout plan for that feature is (e.g. will there be a beta or not). If you have feedback about additional information I could include in these updates, drop a note here. If I see a theme, I'll adjust my updates to address that.
I won't be doing this for everyidea, but most ideas above 100 kudos will get this treatment. Previously, I had been trying to do it for ideas greater than 25 upvotes, but unfortunately the volume is too high to be practical.

It would be ideal to see this implemented in the future and have the ability to save different VAT rates that can be selected from option list or a drop down.
I am really surprised this is not a feature. It would seem to me that it should be either part of the Product catalog, or a setting for all quotes.
This is going to likely be a dealkiller for me, as I'm just getting started with using the tool. I am also advising a few clients about their CRM choice, and this may come up again.
For now, I may just use Wix for my quotes, because they have universal tax. Foruntately, I can do that, because it's just me...
Relating to your post, are 523 upvotes worth a comment from HubSpot? After 2 years...
Please don't take it personally! This feature is so basic, it's embarrassing to say to our customers " Uh.... no, you can create the most complex workflows in HubSpot, but as for the tax, you have to type it manually - in every single quote you create."
I just had an onboarding with a sales team, and they asked me if I was serious.
I made a big fuss about it earlier in the year and have been advise when I threatened to cancel our service that the development team should have something up by the end of 2024.
I’m Canadian and for us and a bunch of others, we have two cumulative taxes. HubSpot is sold to multiple countries, the have to offer their software with working functionalities. Forgetting taxes is just ridiculous in a global context today. 95% of the quote parts is perfect but without that tax feature, it's unusable.
This seriously so whack that this still isn't implemented. Look at all the traction on this thread, and HS still wondering why we roll our eyes when support suggests to "submit to the ideas forum" ugh.
