Associate previously sent emails with Sequence log

In order to have the background to a sequence, it would be helpful to associate a sequence with an email sent through Outlook or another email client that has been logged and tracked on a contact record. This way when a sequence is viewed on the contact record, other members of the sales team can see why a contact was enrolled in the sequence.

To further clarify, it would be great if a sequence could be activated for an existing email thread within outlook desktop and within HubSpot. This would allow the recipient to see past correspondences thus increasing the probability of replying to one of the automated emails.
