This has been a long time coming, I so appreciate all of you sharing your use cases and upvotes. We review them all, and it has a big impact on prioritization. Looking forward to your feedback on this release.
Thanks to all who commented and want this feature. Only four years (yes, steep in sarcasm!) in the pipeline to associate a contact with more than one Company.
I'm surprised this feature is centered on associating only contacts to multiple companies/deals/tickets. We are struggling with how to best organize associating multiple companies to each other and being able to mark a primary company and then label and organize the heiarchy and connections from there like associating contacts would be a great solution.
For example, say a company owns and operates several different businesses, all of which use my software, but I only send one invoice to the primary company. Maybe this company uses an agency to assist them in using my software and that same agency also works for other sales prospects or customers of mine. There is also the issue of Partner Referrals, etc. (there are many different reasons multiple companies can be associated and the parent / child relationship is not robust enough to cover them all).
Are there any plans to extend the functionality of this new feature?
@HSalvo - My company was struggling with associating multiple companies with one company (Channel Partner). We reached out to Integrate IQ, a HubSpot partner, and they are going to set up our channel partners as Custom Objects in HubSpot. They gave us a project timeline of around 3 weeks, and we didn't find their cost to be prohibitive in any way. They are very reasonable. I would suggest reaching out to them while HubSpot continues to expand associations on the back-end... Good luck!!
Hi! My customer would like to make the association labels as a mandatory field in the deal creation forms, so they can guarantee this information is entered by their team every time a new deal is created and associated to contacts.
I have a few customers who use 1 email address but have multiple accounts 'companies' that I email them regarding. We had to get a Beta version of HubSpot to facilitate that.
I'd love to be able to set up some marketing emails that allow me to select the client email address, and then the associated account/company I am writing to them regarding. This way I can use personalization tokens to populate the detailed information that's relevant to them within the email.
Does anyone know if this capability is in the pipeline? My workaround is growing in complexity and is increasingly inefficient.
Anyone in the same position? Or have any updates on how this Beta is coming along?
@jeffvincent Some quick feedback on this new Beta.
First, I wanted to make a contact the "Primary" contact on a deal, but I was not able to create that association label using the word "Primary", but rather was given an error code.
Second, can the association label show like it shows on the company association? It is kind of hard to see "Decision Maker" in that fine text. I'll include a screenshot as well.

@LWarren5 I jst wanna support your idea, we would appreciate it as well. It would be great for us to get some visibility on the pipeline of the whole Multiple Associations project - which features are already planned and we can count one them coming. HubSpot, would it be possible to find this information somewhere? Thanks
Yes - that would be great, I have been told a few times by my account manager that this capability is in the pipeline, but it's quite pressing for us, and I don't want to keep asking her, so visibility of some delivery schedule would be a huge help.
Currently using in beta and it works well so far. With large multi-national companies, employees often represent multiple entities within the corporate structure. I also love that you can list a primary and secondary. Any activity on that contact reflects in both companies unless you manually change the associations. Loving it!
