This mut be escalated far past Planning Stage. The inability to do this has absolutely crippled our ability to use the system properly. We are a service organization that works with business owners of all sizes. Many of those individuals own several companies. Not being able to associate the Owner to their Companies, and their respective Deals is incomprehensible.
Yes! We have been struggling with the best way to do this for a long time. A person can own more than one buisness, but we dont' want duplicate contacts. Please fix!
This feature is greatly needed. My company deals with many serial entrepreneurs, directors or CEO's with multiple businesses.
We have one client that owns seven businesses, three of his businesses' clients are in various stages of the sales cycle.
A great many CEO's that we deal with have at least one other business on the side or serve as director/advisor for three or four others. There is no easy way to track them as they are only associated with a single company, and because Murphy's law is at work, it is never the company that we actually have a proposal out with.
Agree with the others - we also have partners that send over multiple projects.
A company can be associated with many (non-child) companies. A person can be associated with many companies.
I guess in many industries this is not an important feature, but when 75% of your audience is tech entrepreneurs - it becomes important in a hurry.
This is a critical feature for my organization. Not being able to associate contacts with multiple companies is the reason I decided not to migrate to Hubspot.
This one a massive issue for us. We are just a normal SaaS company, but often have a situation where one customer is associated with multiple companies. It means we cannot automate anything around things like account cancellations, as there is no way to know which company the action is referring to, so it's all manual.
Is this being looked at at all? Seems like a major flaw for a CRM?
Try contacting your account manager. This was in Beta testing last year and could be available. There was no way to edit 'relationship' field lables though.
In our case, we work with schools. We want the contacts to be able to connect to the school specifically but also to their parent company, the school district.
This is a criticle function for us. This feature also needs to include changing it via the API, like by making use of the CRM Acciciations API or include it in the Companies API.
Can you guys give any update on the status of this feature?
Hopefully the more individuals that continue to upvote and comment will garner attention by the developers. This lack of basic functionality is throwing a monkey wrench in our implementation. These little, but hugely important, anomalies are what they do not make clear during the pre-sales demos.
