Alternative to "No Pages Viewed" (Lack of user tracking cookies)

For a variety of reasons visitors to our websites may block cookies & pixels or otherwise opt out of tracking.

 

We end up with converted contacts that look like this:

BUT -- we do know 1 or more pages that they viewed from the referring URL data:

In the example above we know "This contact was created from Direct Traffic from... URL"

  • Axiomatically: we know they visited that page
  • That converting page should be recorded as a viewed page
    • Even if we will not be able to record any other page(s) past, present or future
  • That said...
    • Based on IP address, time stamps, and browser finger printing
      • We should be able to tell via a "chain" of referring URLs a bit more about which pages were viewed.
      • Where possible those pages should be viewed.
    • For HubSpot customers using HubSpot CMS there should also be server-side data that can help provide or augment this data.
      • E.g., much as Facebooks conversion API works
