USE CASE: We use a custom property to identity when a contact is known to be a dead lead. However, many of these contacts have pending tasks associated which are no longer applicable once a contact is dead.
PROPOSED FUNCTIONALITY: Add a feature to workflows which would allow changing the status of a task or deleting it. Basically this would be just the opposite of creating a task from a workflow ... but perhaps a bit more complex to implement . Currently workflows auto create many tasks which now no long are applicable and must be manually deleted.
Would be helpful for my business as well. Automatically marking a task complete or deleting the task if a deal progresses down the pipeline would save a lot of time and clean up for our sales people.
Completley necessary. Please implement. We live in tasks and currentely have to monitor daily to ensure any closed deals dont have outstanding tasks cluttering up sales day to day.
Agree. This is much needed. We also create tasks based on Lifecycle stage and if a lead is DQs we need to close the tasks that were already open for it. We need a way to automatically close the tasks via a WF.

When moving a ticket to a closed stage I would like the tasks inside the ticket to be automatically set to done, with a workflow for example. (The same for deals when moved to closed.)

@GrowthOperation your app is fantastic. It solves the problem many are having trouble with here. I would recommend anyone on this thread to download the Task Assistant app by GrowthOperation. It's right in the Hubspot marketplace. It's as easy as just downloading the app and then adding a step into your workflow to delete, mark as complete, or re-assign tasks. It's also affordable, $50 a month tops depending on how many actions you need it to complete. Thanks so much for solving this issue!
Even as there's now a third party app solution for that issue, I was just wondering nevertheless why this is not planned as a direct functionality by Hubspot (at least e.g. via Operations Hub Enterprise features)
Essential to our business too. There is such a high risk that a won or lost customer is contacted from an auto follow up task from a previous stage... Very dangerous.
Just wanted to add our company would also find this feature very useful if it was developed.
Our use case involves utilisation of multiple workflows to speed up onboarding of new clients, which multiple branching pathways requiring different tasks, as such it would be incredibly useful to be able to delete tasks using workflows based off the status of a ticket (however we could workaround just having tasks completed by workflows).
