We see much use of this in our business. If a client has a scope reduction or makes good on a certain line item, we would like to have that as part of the quote instead of showing that as a discount on the bottom.
I completly agree. The change order is a change in the monthly subscription and is a negative change. Because of that we were trying to utilize line items to show a reduction in the current contract and have the company sign off on the reduction. This is not a discount. This is change in packages. They want a reduced package moving forward but their current contract still exists. So we need to sign a new contract and the line items do not permit a negative number. A discount would be incorrect and the only solve currently is to do a completely new contract. Customers sort of like to see the change reflected.
