Allow editing of records (bulk and individual) via reports

DrAS

A user can download a report, edit the spreadsheet, upload back to hubspot and thus update those updated records. Why go through that middle part with spreadsheet download and upload? Why not allow direct edits in the reports themselves? This is a big gap in your product, please update.

Hi @DrAS

That is in interesting take, but not sure I agree.

A report shows me the state of play of my database - what happened when, which values have changed, which object don't have values - etc.

Personally I would not want users to edit reports or values in reports, reports are to be consumed or "read only".

If you want to do bulk edits or work with records, I would recommend using HubSpot views.

@DrAS I would tend to agree with Frank however I can also see that Reports can surface much more specific data than using view filters on one object and that you may want to edit from there. A lot of reports give the option to 'make a list' from the data depending on what you have chose as the primary data source. You could then bulk edit the list.

Let me know what you think 🙂

This is a good idea. Views don't allow for cross-object filtering so bulk editing from views isn't sufficient. Create an "inline editing" permission to allow anyone who doesn't want this functionality to disable it.
