I would like to see the ability to adjust column widths in the quote template builder.
Seems that the defaults waste space in some columns and do not allocate enough space for others.
For example, I find that the SKU column is just a little to small to accomodate my longest SKU on one line, I believe that the finished document would look better if columns were sized to fit where possible without bleeding onto a second line.
Great idea... We have the same issue with the description column being allocated the same surface space as the quantity column, meaning the text wraps in the description column and makes the quote far longer than it needs to be. It looks horrible when we send to a customer or download to PDF.
What should be a 1 page quote ends up being 2-3 because the description column is so narrow
Not being able to adjut the width of the columns hinders the appearance of the quote. I have a list of products that are grouped together and list in the description column, but it is not wide enough and is also right justified not left justified. I would love a solution to this isssue.
DITTO on "We have the same issue with the description column being allocated the same surface space as the quantity column, meaning the text wraps in the description column and makes the quote far longer than it needs to be. It looks horrible when we send to a customer or download to PDF." I've tried editing the code to fix this and its fully locked down. Very frustrating.
I agree. Quotes builder in HubSpot is extremely rigid. I have been trying to replicate one of our documents in there, finding that the best way to insert the text is through the "terms" section. However when adding a table in, there is no way to adjust the size of the table lines, so the whole thing ends up taking up a whole page when in reality it could fit in a quarter of it. The text sizing also is constantly mismatching what is selected, you have to re-do and undo the size a few times for it to register. It is pretty much a nightmare to format.
I agree. We have been adding products (in our case services) and entering correct descriptions, which are long, but neccessary. When the quote template is generated it looks all skewed and wrong. The description section should be given more width than 'quantity' or 'price'.
Due to this, the whole quote and invoice features have no use to our business at all.
If this cannot be resolved I see no use for many consultancy businesses that require explanation in their service descriptions.
Agreed. We should be able to choose if the columns in the products & services tables are 50/50, 75/25, etc. The current layouts look amateurish, and cause us to create many of our quotes in an alternative quoting system.
Adding our vote to this issue. We have very long product descriptions, and would like to see more width dedicated to them so as to make for shorter quotes. Even the ability to widen the amount of space used by the line items table. Seems there are abitrary margins hardcoded that can only be overridden in code.
This would help immensely... we are a service company and need to add unique descriptions to each line item, and not being able to adjust the widths it makes it funky
