Adding contacts to marketing events

I am from the HubSpot Product team 👋

We've an ongoing Beta that solves for this pain point. You can now automate form submissions to event registrations for manually created Marketing Events in HubSpot using a new workflow action. This allows you to register a contact, who filled a form, to a marketing event.

We're currently working to extend this feature to capature event attendance and cancellations as well - stay tuned!

it is crucial to have this functionality. there is no way to build proper attribution reporting without it

We need a better way to add contacts as attendees to a marketing event instead of importing them all over again. This is such a manual, time-consuming workaround that is more susceptible to errors and properties getting overwritten.

hey team, commenting on behalf of a customer here. It'll be great if we can have more flexibility around the ways we add contacts to a marketing event. for example, adding individual contacts via their contact record would be useful if we have missed out individual contacts during the import.

i agree, being able to add contacts to Marketing campaign or event is crucial, also i want to see registrations v attended v no-show so i can better tailor re-targetting and fine tune joining/reminder emails to ensure higher attendance.

I would also like the opportunity to understand behaviour and if this is a pattern - this really does need to be developed for Events and campaigns

Yes, please! I assumed I would be able to easily mark an attedee's RSVP, but was so disapointed to learn that I would have to import each time.

I find it so weird that Hubspot doesn't yet have something simple and adjacent to the marketing events feature- the ability to add contacts without having to import them all over again. For zoom events we host, it's all good. But assume it's an in-person event or hosted by another company and the contacts are already imported for some reason, there's no other way to navigate this.

I 100% agree with this - i had a real issue with trying to create a list for an event where the delegates registerd using another form (non-hubspot) it caused uneccessary extra steps.  I really don't understand why this tiny fearture is not already a standard action in hubspot.  Please Hubspot dev, make it easy to just add contacts to an event or campaign and make it easy to upload more than 1 list to a campaign as sometimes 1 campaign will have various elements.

I'd be hard pressed to think someone is actually listening to these requests. Shouldn't there be some hubspot rep replying to this or giving us some hope that this is on the product roadmap? Seems quite disappointing that this post started 7 months ago and there's still no response or update.

I'd also love an events option to tag people who have been invited to the event. This would help with suppression lists for RSVP reminders. Otherwise, you have to create a property for "invited to events" then list the events in that property, then tag all the contacts with that property. Right now, it seems like the only event-related status are attended and no-show, right?

There is a private beta out called "Workflow action to Register a Contact to a Marketing Event". I would ask your HubSpot CSM to reach out to the PM about getting access to it. This only allows you to register people for a marketing event and not attend. For example, you can use a form-based trigger to enroll contacts and then use a workflow action to register them to your manually created marketing event. However, if you intend to mark contacts as "attendees", you would still need to import them directly into the marketing event or use a custom-coded action in a workflow (if you have Operations Hub Enterprise).

Just joining in on this one - we would also like to record invited against the event, ideally linking the relevant event invite emails/ workflows. As the main thing we want to know is who we have invited but has not RSVP'd or even opened the email

be able to change the status manually with out import: register, attended and cancelled

In addition to the workflow just being able to add a form as an asset to a marketing event so all submissions can be recorded as registered. I shouldn't have to collect registrations through a hubspot form to export and then reimport to hubspot on the event.

Need this for sure. I started creating marketing events in our instance and then realized the only way to associate is to import and I've already imported contacts.
