Add tables to drag and drop email

At the moment it's not possible to insert tables in the drag and drop email editor. Even if we paste table HTML in the source code, it gets stripped away when we save it.

Current workarounds include:

  • Add a screenshot of the table instead:
    • However if the email client is blocking images, this information will not show up
  • Use a custom module with a HTML table:
    • This means that for every table I want to insert in my emails, I need to create a new module

Being able to add tables to drag and drop emails will be a really useful feature to have for those want the flexibility of DnD, but still want to structure their information clearly.

Status atualizado para: Alternative Solution
July 10, 2025 12:22 PM

Hi everyone! My name is Hallie, and I'm a Program Manager on the CXM team. I'm marking this as 'Alternative Solution' because implementing tables natively in the drag and drop email editor isn't something on the roadmap at this time. However, there are a few workarounds that can solve for this in the meantime, two of which are noted in the original post:

  1. Take a screenshot of a table (with the data in it) and insert that into the email editor
    • If email clients block images, this would mean it wouldn't be visible unless the recipient adjusted their client's settings to download images automatically.
    • However, this option prevents any email client from rendering HTML in different ways, so your table will look consistent across various email clients.
  2. Use a custom / HTML module to insert a table using HTML
    • W3schools has a helpful tutorial on setting up a basic table that you can insert into an HTML module.
  3. Convert your CSV file
    • If you are using a table in a CSV file and want to paste it into a marketing email, you can follow the steps outlined in this community post to get an HTML version of your CSV table, and paste that HTML into the drag and drop editor.

We understand this has been a popular request over the years, and wanted to share alternatives that can help in the meantime. If more native table support is put on the roadmap, we'll be sure to update this post and share any news with you. Thanks for your understanding, and I hope these alternatives are helpful!

Status atualizado para: Not Currently Planned
May 12, 2020 12:23 PM

Hi Contributers, thank you for the idea and for all the feedback, This feature is not available for Marketing Email yet. We have discussed this as a team and are hoping to review this soon, but this is not planned for development in the next quarter. For transparency and clarity, I am updating this issue to 'Not currently planned' for the time being. I will update here once we have plans in place.

Best,

Shane

This is critical for B2B. Please consider raising this up on the priority list.

Same here. Really needed for newsletters, mailings (especially in B2B). This function is available on other platforms.

This is pretty ridiculous that it's not a thing already...

'and my axe!'

+1 from me, some of team and their emails could really do with getting some sort of table functionality - Or at least the ability to create compact selections of separate modules that looks like a table while still offering a responsive experience.

I see this was originally written 2+ years ago…still wishing it was available in Q4 2022!

Hello

Is there any update on when this will available? It is an important requirement that we need as a B2B business that needs to share pricing / market data with our customers.

Thanks

Yes please!

Would very much like the ability to add tables to email templates and such.
Trying to format text and numbers so that it looks ok can be a hassle. I dont need super fancy, just something basic, like tables.

Also, it says "not currently planned", but that was two and a half year ago. Any updates?

Why is it available for websites, blogs, landing pages or knowlege base articles but not in email module?

This is an important feature for b2b email communication!

It's nearly four years later... is there an update on this basic functionality being available? As a new Hubspot user I can't believe it's not standard in the drag and drop editor.

Any update on this?

Alternatively, is there anyone out there that has created a custom table module they'd be willing to share? i'm struggling with how to execute.

Wow: 4 years of requests, surprise and angst over this only to be ignored by HubSpot.

And the sales sequence interface is even more limited. Nice work, HubSpot!
