When using a multi-select property as a breakdown in a custom report bar graph, it would be ideal if the tool allows users to select if they want the value shown at the top of each bar to be the count of total contacts in each bar or the count of multi-select entries.
Currently if you build a custom report using a bar graph and set the Breakdown to a multi-select property, the value shown at the top of each bar will be the total number of multi-select values selected by that contact as opposed to the count of total contacts in the primary property.
Here is an example. Y Axis: Count of Contacts
X Axis: County
Breakdown: Multi- Select Property
26 is the actual number of contacts in the focused county. However to see this number you must hover over the bar. What's displayed visually (31) is the total number of muli-select options those 26 people have selected.
Often times our clients want to display the total count of contacts and then allow a user to hover to view the breakdown of those contacts.
If the system could allow for users to toggle between these two dispaly options it would make muli-select properties useable in breakdowns. As is without this feature, muli-select proeprties have a chance to result in misinterpreted data and therefore are risky to use.
(In my opinion this is actually a bug, but HubSpot support said it was expected behavior.)
