Add manage access to product properties

We need a way to hide information on the line items for the Sales Reps. I don't see why this is not a thing yet.

It is not possible to exclude certain users from being able to update products/line items and making sure pricing strategy is honored. It would prevent the creation of quotes with bad intent, bad pricing and/or bad information.

Currently:

Within permission sets, it is only possible to prevent the creation of custom line items for HubSpot Users.

In addition, it is also not possible to restrict the access to the different type of properties and what users are able to do with them.

The request:

Big request to at least make it possible to restrict the updating of this line items or product properties to certain groups or users.
Ideally, first being able to adjust the 'property access' in Product properties and later on adding the permission options in the actual permission sets.  Perhaps adding the option as 'Product/line item permissions'.

Yes absolutely, we need this too! I can't understand why this isn't a thing yet. We want to be able to tie specific information to products, e.g. what commission structure is associated with a product, but right now this is easily changed when editing the line items table, we can't even hide the property on the pop up that appears when clicking the product from the line items table so we have no way of ensuring users don't edit.  Please HubSpot can you let us know if this is in the roadmap?

I agree - this is a key requirement for line items.

We urgently need to limit the individual properties of products. Otherwise, users will change the assignment to product groups or units. This distorts the reproting and the quality of the offers.

I dont understand why there is way to manage access to product's properties. This needs to be there to help hide sensitive information such as unit cost and product margins

Adding additional feedback here, as a support representative in HubSpot I have received multiple instances of feedback noting a requirement for allowing this manage access to also be available to product properties to ensure greater control over secure product based data. Adding this feature would solve problems for numerous customers

I want to limit what columns they see when they add line items in a deal and make it so they can't change their column views. They shouldn't have access to certain properties.

There are a couple of similar ideas that boil down to adding permissions support for Products and Line Items. we desperately need this!

Related to hiding unit costs, I am sharing a client's thoughts here, "Are we sure we are not missing something here? Seems like other business would also like to be able to put a margin report with out the team knowing how much margin we make on the units."

If unit costs are visible anywhere, anyone can always work out the margin. If we really want to keep margin info confidential, we have to hide both the unit costs and any direct margin fields.

10,000,000 upvotes. This is so critical, especially as we use a CPQ to do all the calcs, which can then be overridden at will.
