Add file attachments to marketing mails

Currently only link attachments from the Hubspot data base are supported for marketing mails. Sometimes it would be more appropriate to sent the content already with the mail such that users can access all mail after mail sync without being online.

This would be really useful when sending an email as a lot of the time people don't trust links that don't have your company URL

I see there's not been an update from @Shane_Janssens from the Product Support Team on this idea since 2021. While I do understand this is not currently planned, has there been any further discussion on this topic? I regularly use 1-to-1 emails to send this type of material and it sounds like (from reading this information) many different types of customers' customers would benefit greatly from this function. I've upvoted this and look forward to any updates provided by the Product Team for this item.

+1 This feature is a deal breaker for us (for the transactionnal email add-on)

Hello HubSpot guys,

What is the status of this topic?

It is really a needed function for anyone relying heavily on Single Send API for processing transactional emails.

You asked about the use case. E-commerce would be the most obvious one. We generate a pdf receipt on the server and then we need to send that receipt to the user who made a purchase. Right now this is not possible.

Dear HubSpot-Team,  @jaleonard19 ,
we are also in need of this feature to be able to attach small PDF files (less than 200 KB) to emails being sent via the Single-Send API.

In our case there's also only one recipient per mail, so the possibly problematic use-case of "mass-emails" is actually not applicable here. One could also apply strict(er) rate limits for such emails etc. to be on the safe side. I guess many other customers would be fine which such limitations. We simply need this feature to provide a nice user experience for our customers.

Please give us feedback if (and maybe when) this feature will be available.

Thanks a lot!
Raik

please get this feature out as soon as possible - should be an easy thing and would be super helpful - in our case the attachment of pdfs same as on sales hub where we get notified when users are checking the mail and opening the attached pdf with more detailed information

This would be very useful

+1 for attachment support on transactional emails - because marketing emails can't access line items on deals, we are having to manually trigger an order confirmation email via the transactional email API using a single send template. We have a requirement to attach the terms and conditions of sale to this email.

this feature is very relevant, especially when it comes to sending invoices (which is one of the selling points of transactional emails?) and calendar invitations using the single-send api.

adding an attachment is such a normal feature to include with email. please add this feature asap! Thank you!

I have worksheets my clients need to complete and would like to have the worksheets attached to the email and send them through the workflows.

Our clients are instructed not to click on links in emails, we need to be able to attach files

I understand why HS may not prioritize adding attachments to marketing emails, but it's crazy that we can't attach files to transactional emails. Transactional emails have legal implications, and we often need to attach legally binding documents such as T&C, contacts, issued certificates, and receipts.

We migrated to Twilio SendGrid now for any transactional mail. Sorry HubSpot, but a "CRM" company which is not able to add attachments to emails for 6 years does not deserve to have customers!

I'm not sure how many upvotes this has, but I definitely want to add mine.

The use case is probably very similar to a lot of things that are seen here:

- I need to send documents (in my case time sheets and pro forma invoices) to clients

- the mail trail needs to be attached to the transaction and the client in hubspot

- most of my clients CAN'T access documents via links because of security concerns

To be honest, I'm not sure I see a workaround to this ...

We are looking for the same thing as e.g. when updating on terms changes, by law we are required to attach easy downloadable form of terms doc.

We are also in urgent need of this idea.
Our client (from Germany) is adding the Terms of Service as a link to the marketing emails as a workaround.
But for certain types of emails, he is forced by law to add the Terms of Service as an attachment.

Marketing e-mails are also great to use for individual one-to-one e-mails in professional layout and to be able to trace them at the same time.

I have been in contact with HubSpot support today to understand more about security and privacy of marketing e-mails. I learned that links to attachments have a unique URL-link. Although they will not be crawled by search engines they will become publically available on the internet in some way.

For my purpose this imposes a huge security risk and privacy issue and most likely also to other HubSpot users in case they link attachments with private  and with confidential information.

This implies a huge limitation for me by making use of e-mail marketing mails and therefore consider not to use it anymore at all which is really a pitty.

Therefore to have the possibilty to directly attach a file, without using an URL-link, is critical to me. Also for my purpose, the use of e-mail marketing functionality without adding attchments is more or less useless.

I would really appreciate if this feature could be added to the software sooner than later. Lastly, in my view, this is not only a user requirement but will also improve the security and privacy of the marketing e-mail functionality of HubSpot.

Adding yet another upvote for this feature, particularly on transactional emails.

As others have said, for privacy and security reasons we cannot use a URL for attachments in our emails, we need attachments for things such as invoices, receipts, and spreadsheets.

I find it quite staggering that an idea can have this many upvotes and have regular, consistent requests over a 6 year period and yet still not be implemented.

We've just bought the transactional email add-on and now it looks like it won't be fit for purpose and we'll have to have an inelegant solution using many other programs like SendGrid.

Hi everyone,

looking for a solution to solve this common problem, we have published in the HubSpot marketplace "Attach Files in Properties" app.
The app allows you to automatically populate a property with a downloadable link of that file.

A contact property should be used as a personalization token in sales or marketing emails.
So, from now on, you can manage and dynamically share file links in your emails.

Once the process is set up, you can use that property to send custom marketing communications.

Try it and send us a feedback!
We're constantly working on new features for this app, every feedback would be very helpful.
