As a sales rep, I want to be able to add external links to the company record of my account so that I can easily find resources in Miro, G-Suite, and Asana that are related to my account.
Nothing too complicated, I would like to add links (URL) to other resources relevant to the company record (not files or documents on Hubspot, just links). Let's say that I have the account plan in a Google Doc, a mapping of personas in Miro, and the latest revenue report of that company in Google Sheets - I want to be able to add those links to the account to find them quickly. Plain old hyperlinks, as simple as that.
That's about it. Attaching a quick capture of what I think it could look like.
Have you considered creating custom single-line text company properties for this? See my screenshot below:
HubSpot automatically recognizes links in single-line text fields (see the square/arrow icon next to the Details button, clicking this would open the link in a new tab/window.)
Here's a step by step:
Create a custom property for each link field that you need (object "Company", type "Single-line text")
Hi, Karsten - Thanks for your suggestion. I would not consider this a solution.
Why? It fails to scale and would clutter the properties. Links can be account plans, product descriptions, a network map, or anything related to the account. The fact that there's not a defined number of links per account makes using properties a "partial" solution or just merely a workaround.
Sure I can add Link 1, Link 2, Link 3 as properties and then use them as I please but... still feels like opening a bottle with a hammer.
This solution does not seem to work with long URLs. When I click on the URL, it truncates the link. If you go to Multi-line, you lose the ability to click on the icon.
The solution would be to have a field type called URL with the ability to control how much you want to see.
