Add email to CRM record button

I would like to see an enhancement that enable being able to capture inbound emails in HubSpot with an "Add Email" button, similar to what Salesforce already has in place for MS Outlook desktop and Office 360. The current Hubspot method to capture email contents is lacking, as we need to reply to the sender (with the bcc email address includes) or forward to the Hubpsot forward address, which is not the best option. We already have two Hubspot ribbon items, one of which seems to have no purpose, so why not have a simple button that allows us to add an email to a contact & company record with the simple click of a ribbon button?

@JeppeNyrup We are currently testing this feature. It allows you to log emails that were sent prior to activating the beta.

@TWallen - sounds nice. I can't get the beta to work, though. I enrolled our portal in the beta last week, but I don't see the option to log emails from my Gmail account. Happy to jump on a call if you want to dive into possible connection errors of this - otherwise I will just wait until it is released so HS Support can help investigate what the issue is...

This is a great new feature for activity logging, it works as intended with Gmail.

However, it seems that it takes away the ability to quickly open the objects associated with the email (contact/company/deal)!

Before (if the email was already logged) you could open the associated objects. Today that section is replaced by the "Log email to HubSpot" button; which unforunately does not list the objects as hyperlinks. To get to them you need to add in a few extra click and go via the extension sidebar on the right.

It would be great if the objects listed in the "Log email" would be a hyperlink to their HubSpot page @hroberts

I completely Agree with the above. Make it happen Hubspot

When logging incoming mails, the associated deals are not displayed. had a contact associated with a deal but the deal didn´t show up.

In addition, there should be a scaling of the field, because if I make the addin larger, then the test of the object selecrion should also be larger (Outlook Client).

This is a no-brainer, really hard to understand why this wouldn't be available by default. Disappointed.

FYI HubSpot has a beta with this feature called "[Public Beta] Log Emails to Custom Objects from Gmail & O365". Just signed up and it works. Good luck!

I don't see that public beta in the list!

Check with your HubSpot rep. Maybe they need to do something special to give you access.

@hroberts is there any timeline on when this will be available for Outlook desktop users? Most of our clients are using this and its disappointing that this isn't available yet for them. Thanks!

Hey HubSpot Community,

The ability to log emails to HubSpot custom objects from within Gmail and web-based Office 365 is now live to all.

Now, customers with the Gmail or O365 Chrome extension can choose to log emails to their custom objects directly from within Gmail and web-based Office 365. Custom objects will now be listed below HubSpot's standard objects in the association picker inside of Gmail and O365.

Please note that this functionality is only available to Gmail users via the HubSpot Chrome extension or to Outlook users via the web-based O365 add-in. This is not supported for customers using HubSpot VSTO add-in for Outlook Desktop.

Thank you,

Scott

Hi there,

I love the fact that we are now able to log emails to specific custom objects! An added functionality of the Chrome extension would be to view any assoicated Custom Objects Via the hubspot summary on the right hand side of the inbox.

When is this funtionailty going to be added to desktop email clients like thunderbird?  I use thunderbird because it's free, and has many available add on making it surperior web based email.  My email is not gmail nor does my company provide microsoft services, not that I would want to use microsoft.  My company has just started to use hubspot and we all have many emails that need to be logged.  We are an international company that works remotely so it would be nice to be able to have hubspot organize our past email conversations.
