We have been informed by HubSpot there is no way to select a user's default Business Unit preference. Can you please add this feature urgently?
It's very frustrating to have to change it multiple times a day to use HubSpot as I do now. When I log into HubSpot, I am in placed in the company's business unit. I am unable to access the things I need to from this business unit and have to change to my business unit. This change is necessary everytime I login, which several times a day.
Seconded. We really need this since Hubspot changed the way business units work. Sales reps don't always remember. And they shouldn't be able to select other business units that they don't belong to
Yes, being able to assign users to business units, and setting a default business unit for users is essential to our company using business units effectively. It is very frustrating with the current set-up, which adds to confusion and the likelihood of record errors across our team - the opposite of efficiency.
So thee are to parts. We need the abillity to assign users to businessunits from a permission perspective. But i think that is a separete and much older idea.
Since the update on selecting the business unit you are working in, we need to be able to set that business. Or atleast make it so, that it's chached, so you do not have to change it multiple times a day.
Since the business unit can't be updated after assets are created, not being able to set a default based on users creates issues with keeping things clean. No one is prefect, so if you have an oops moment, you might not realize it straight away, and then you can't make it right later — like an email that's already been sent. If there's worry about the wrong people making updates to business units, then make editable by user permissions.
Same for some of my customers. Not beeing able to set the default bu for a team when they login or even to set it to 'all business units' leads often to irritation or at least - working at the wrong place - to data erros. Would you please consider this for an update?
Desperately needed functionality! So many folks who try to search for their marketing email they were working on and think it's been deleted just because they can't see that they're only viewing one business unit.
Would like the Super Admin to set the default business unit for a user and also for this remain the business unit unless another unit is selected by the user.
We are experiencing the following challenges:
- Sales users not selecting a business unit and bypassing some business unit-specific required fields on contact creation
- Business unit periodically resets to account level (unable to resolve what influences this action)
Hey there! I believe this would be a great improvement in the user experience. I've noticed some users are assigned to specific business units in a company, for them, having the option to select a different default can make a huge difference. It will also be useful for admin to be able to select 'all business units', instead of having a specific one.
YES PLEASE!! The team is really frustrated with how complex it is to separate one BU from another. This should be much simpler. We're even considering splitting into separate portals because operating different units within the same portal is just too difficult. If we could choose the Business Unit for a new user right from the start, it would make things so much easier.
It’s frustrating that there’s no way to set a default Business Unit. Every time users log in, they’re placed in the company’s default unit, even if they don’t work in it, forcing them to switch multiple times a day just to get to what they need. With multiple companies working at the same time, this is making things way harder than they need to be.
In common with what many others have said, not being able to set a default Business Unit for a user makes no sense. Or, even better, having it set by default based on the team or permission set. As with other aspects of the Business Unit product, it feels like a half-baked product that we're paying a lot of money for.
This should be a no brainer and basic functionality - Hoping you all implement this sooner than later as you would understand the negative impact on workflows and reporting. If your going to leverage business units or things like this, it would make sense to deploy a fully baked version of it that is customizable vs a half baked release.
