Just to clarify — are you primarily concerned with having accurate customer journey reporting or ensuring the lead stage is correct and automatically updated? If it’s the second, are several lead status updates needed as the contact makes their way through the journey, or just one? If it’s the second, you could trigger a Lead Status update based on the lifecycle stage through Workflows, but you might need several workflows or one more complex workflow if many updates happen with each individual step.
