There should be a "default setting" for the account, where users can choose to make cloned sequences public or private automatically. This is important for my business because we use workflows to enroll contacts into sequences sent by specific users. If the cloned sequence is private without us knowing, we will encounter errors and waste time.
Cannot agree with you more, currently going through this exact issue where we cloned a previous sequence that was set to public, and by default the cloned sequence is set to private. If I cloned a public sequence it should be a public sequence; if I clone a private sequence it should be a private sequence. IMO. The consequence of having to unravel who did/didn't receive a sequence and resend correctly is cumbersome.
