This suggested change is for sales and marketing teams.
In general, marketing teams are responsible for creating and sharing sales support materials with sales teams. The logical place in hubspot for these documents to be shared and stored is the sales documents folder.
However, Hubspot limits those without sales seats to only be able to upload and have visibility of 5 documents.
This means that marketing needs to ask a sales team member to upload the docs. It also means marketing can't see what is in the folder overtime to make sure it is the latest materials etc
This will force us out of using hubspot to share and store sales support materials, due to the nonsensical blocks on access and visibility.
Accessibility aside, there are so many limitations in place for marketing teams to manage sales documents for sales - there really need to be settings in place that control who can add, who the document owner is, ability to replace/update the document, etc.
With CloudFiles, you can have unlimited trackable uploads into HubSpot. However, I don't feel particularly good sharing this solution since this is another thing to pay for (not very expensive though, highest tier = 5$/u/m) 😅.
It does solve many of the problems associated with Documents and would give a good ROI though. If you are interested you can try out the app from marketplace.
