Ability to make old products inactive rather than deleting them
It would be great if you could make old products inactive to clean up the database yet have a record of past products.
This would allow only the current product to be available for selectin by the sales team without loosing track of products / prices that were previously available.
There are other CRMs that allow you to make items inactive without having to delete the data completely.
We have the same issue and from a data integrity standpoint a much better option as Salesforce had this capability before we transitioned. The only workaround until I resolve our internal issues with this is renaming the product with N/A and marking it inactive (we created a property to reflect in list views to leverage) so the end user does not select the wrong product. Also this should carry over from the product to the line item level when pulling reports to leverage as a filter option and not have to create a workflow (if possible) to update historical line items on deals.
