Hello from the Sales Hub team. We are actively planning to add a toggle to disable document downloads. The idea is that we would add this toggle during Sales Document link creation so that the ability to download can be controlled at the link-level rather than strictly at the document level. I will provide an update once this feature is available.

I've done a quick check, but correct me if I am wrong; files are not downloadable in the view pane (you can't right-click the display and download a PowerPoint deck or PDF).
The fix should just be a case of either rendering the download/share buttons or not.
@SunnyGill - while docsend is great, it doesn't work for many firms. And if you wanted a document room, similar to sharepoint, you have to pay hundreds of dollars a month.
I'm submitting this on behalf of my customer. It would be very helpful if could control downloads in documents, at this moment all contacts can download them as long as they have the link, we would like to prevent this from happening in certain instances.
Agreed. Also, the ability to upload a new version of the document from Hubspot and automatically update the link to point to the new version of the document without affecting the link itself.
Hard to believe that Hubspot is not ensuring this feature for the documents after 7y of requests...and you have to pay for an extra tool, such as Cloudfiles, to ensure your customers can't download a document Sometimes it is better to work on improving the current functionalities than being too fancy with new AI features...

When I'm sharing a document with someone, there should be a way to trun OFF the download option. The whole point of the tracking is I want to see everytime they open it, how long they have it open, etc. If they download it, they can see if offline and I don't know any of the metrics.
