I would like to suggest adding a functionality which would enable editing property history (modify or delete history record) or, if it is considered essential that editing an existing record should be avoided, then injecting a corrective record linked to an existing history record, which would replace the history record or render it invalid.
The reason is that sometimes users make errors in their data entry and the error can remain unnoticed for considerable time periods. For instance, we have an integration to the Hubspot API which relies on history records to show the status of companies. We recently found out that some companies had an unintentional change to their statuses. The status later got reverted, but the history is permanently incorrect and, as a result, some other systems relying on the data from Hubspot are now reporting that incorrect status for a specific time period.
Right now, the only solution appears to be that we implement an override for the specific records in our side of the integration implementation, but it would be great if it was possible to reflect at the source (Hubspot) that the status field was never supposed to have the value that the history shows it had.
This is an absolute must; for us, when we migrated to Hubspot, we loaded our existing deals, companies and contacts. We now want to analyze our deal performance like close ratio and % of deals that move from stage to stage. However, for all of our historical data which contains a lot of valuable past performance data, we have no way to inject that history into Hubspot so we can use it for analysis. We need to have that history or the ability to clean up any inadvertent data changes, like an incorrect property value or pipeline/stage shift.
I would like to propose the addition of a feature that allows users to edit the history of a property by modifying or deleting a historical record. Alternatively, if it is deemed necessary to avoid editing an existing record, users could inject a corrective record that is linked to the original history record. This would replace the original record or make it invalid.
