Ability to disable specific dropdown options in a form field

Filing on behalf of a customer -

Hi team, it'd be amazing if we could consider implementing a functionality where customers can disable some of the options on a dropdown form field whilst still having them displayed (ie. certain options greyed out and unselectable).

Currently, we are only able to remove the options entirely from the form editor. To achieve the desired effect, I believe developer muscle and custom solutions via coding is required to add a 'disable' attribute to the form HTML.

If we could develop an additional setting natively on the tool, to simply disable (not remove) the dropdown options, it would be extremely beneficial.

Appreciate your consideration, team!

Hi @Jin,

this approach might have several negative Accesibility Implications:
1) a "greyed out" Option might not have enough contrast ratio to pass A11y tests

2)  screenreaders sometimes do interpret:

<option value='' disabled>"

differently, which could cause inconsitent behavior.

This is critical if a we try to replace a few option while maintaing data sanity for legacy data.
Please build this feature
