Ability to clone a static list

It would be great to be able to clone a static list. Sometimes we have a list created that, say, documents all customers we use for one campaign. Then we want to reuse that list for another campaign but need to exclude some folks for some reason, without necessarily deleting the master list (but there are nuances to how we categorize clients that an active list can't capture).

Also if you realize you missed a filter you have to start over again!

Absolutely need to be able to clone static lists. The time spent to manage this gap with workarounds could be eliminated if this was an option.

Agreed! The inability to clone a static list is not something I can understand at all. I mean, why not?

Agree. It seems so odd that I can go to the trouble of writing a workflow to clone the list but it can't be done from the menu

It's rediculous to see we can't clone a static list. It should have the option to clone the list or clone the filters. In all cases, I just want to clone the filters and not create 10+ filters from scratch every time I need to make a small change to the list. To give an example: A monthly email list that has all the same filters as the month before, only one filter should be different which is the creation date of the customer.
Is there a solution for this?

Hi folks,

I'm Andres- Product Manager @ HubSpot. I'm happy to say that this feature has been delivered. Thank you so much for your upvotes and idea.

You can now go to a Static List > Click Actions > Clone. You will have 3 options:

  • Clone as an active list- This will clone the current active or static list as a new active list with the same filters. Users can edit this list before saving it.
  • Clone as a static list- This will clone the current active or static list as a new static list with the same filters. Users can edit the list before saving it.
  • Clone as static list (membership only)- This will copy all members of an active or static list and paste them into a new static list with no filters.
