Ability to auto send invoice prior to auto ACH transactions

CMancuso

We have several clients who are on monthly auto ACH subscriptions through our HubSpot payment links.  The problem is a lot of our clients want an invoice sent to them in advance.  I need subscriptions to come with the capability of auto creating an invoice as many days in advance as I choose per subscription.  For example if a client's auto ACH is going to transact on the 1st of the month, they need an open invoice sent to them 2 weeks in advance.  Then... after the auto ACH initiates on the 1st, it ties the payment to that same open invoice auto marking it as paid.  Additionally I need this to work with regular subscriptions that don't have an auto ACH because some of our clients just want the invoice sent and they mail us a check.  The issue is, when I send them the invoice on the due date I have to wait up to 3 weeks to receive a check.  I need the Subscription to send a reminder of the invoice in advance but not just a reminder.  I need it to send an open invoice with a future due date.  Currently the only way to do this is set the Invoice up as Net 15 or Net 30.  The problem now is when you set the invoice date it'll automatically assume the service dates which end up being incorrect.

@CMancuso  I get where you're coming from — this has been frustrating for us too. When I explained the issue to HubSpot Support, it felt like they didn’t fully understand the use case or how common this need might be. But it’s a fairly standard and reasonable request.

If my customer’s invoice is due on 30th May, I simply want to send it automatically on 15th May — two weeks earlier — so they have time to review and pay.

The current workflow suggests setting the subscription date to 15th May, so the invoice goes out then. But the issue is that HubSpot prints 15th May as the start date on the invoice — not 30th May — which can be misleading. In some regions, this could even raise compliance concerns, since it appears the customer is being charged for access before the actual start date.

I'm not expecting a quick fix, but it doesn’t seem like a major change — just allow users to set the actual subscription period and choose a separate invoice send date. That would solve it.
