Ability to Turn off features/tools in the menu/navigation

There are some features/tools/capabilities within Hubspot that we do not use as a result of SOP's or necessary process within our ERP. There are others that we simply do not use for no real reason other than they aren't necessary for our business.

To avoid confusion among our users and to simplify, it would be beneficial to be able to turn these features off in the menu/navigation.

For example, we do not use the Quoting capability because we create quotes in our ERP system so if/when they are approved/accepted, that quote can simply but associated to a PO and all the qty's, products, services, etc... are already there for order entry.

However, having the feature visible to our sales team causes confusion as to where they should create the quote.

Another feature that we are not currently using is Forecast. Our forecasting process is a little more complicated and detailed than what Hubspot's forecast feature offers so we do that externally.

In short, would be nice to be to remove certain tools/features from the menu/navigation to avoid confusion, declutter, and simplify.

Did you ever find a workaround to this?  I agree with your comments - Ours shows Commerce and we will not use that in our tool bar.  I am worried it is going to confuse our end users.

Unfortunately, I haven’t found anything that worked for us.

For Super Admins, I get that Hubspot would want to make sure that was some awareness for all available features just in case there was a need but for all other users, the ability to control what appears in the navigation would really help to keep people focused and avoid confusion. I receive questions all the time about how to use this or that and I have to explain to them that we do not use those features. The response is almost always, “Well why is it there then?”

You can control some of the features in the navigation through permissions. For example, if a person doesn’t have access to Marketing Hub, the Marketing section in the navigation will not appear for them. But other features are not controllable in this way.

I second this. It would be good to remove certain menu items or hide functionality such as prospecting area for those not using it.

Thew new menu system is completely cluttered with links that my team does not have access to and never will.

UX 101 pretty much says, if a user doesn't have the ability to access something, don't show it.  Please fix this so the navigation menu can be a little more userful.

I also support this! This is the PRIMARY reason why we have not yet adopted HubSpot at our company.

I concur. I thought navigation was based on a user's permission set, but since the new navigation deployed, I've noticed users with granular permissions have links in their navigation system that they don't have permission to access. It's made the navigation experience more confusing for users, especially those with limited permissions. I'm training them to rely on bookmarks as a workaround, but if that's necessary, it means there's an opportunity to improve the UX. It would also be helpful to give Super Admins the ability to hide Hubs we don't subscribe to from the navigation for users without Super Admin access. The cleaner and more relevant the navigation is for general users, the more likely they are to use the platform.

This feature is important, especially if Hubspot wants to move upmarket with Enterprises that deal frequently with external contractors. We're looking to integrate various external teams into our instance and the lack of main navigation control makes the user experience really confusing for newly onboarded users. There's too many features that are un-used that adds noise.

I'll throw my voice for this features as well. If we could configure the portal view by team or user like we can for record views, that would be extremely useful. Just today my sales reps found the 'website visits' tool (formerly called prospects) and the execs were in a panic as they don't want sales reps prospecting on that info (even though they should be).

Please make this customisable! Our average deal size is 6 figures - we're not going to be asking people to pay that via credit card, so Commerce is useless to us, just creating brain clutter.

They keep adding features and tools so this is becoming more and more necessary! I mean look at this menu in one of my clients!Screenshot 2025-02-15 at 2.45.30 PM.png

the menu clutter is one of the prime reasons we cancelled the subscription. as great as it is, but the sensory overload caused by all the unneeded features...

I agree, I will need to spent a fair bit of time in user training just explaining which features are not being used by the business.  The clutter in the menu bar is a real distraction.

Agreed. HubSpot offers a lot! Simple to use navigation is key for users. Trust me, we'll add on more features as we need them -- they don't need to be hanging around in the navigation when we aren't using them.

Yes! HubSpot should be easy to use, user friendly etc. But this massive nagivation menu only makes it more difficult to go through it. Make it possible on Team basis to show/hide certain items.
