A simple way to let users resubscribe to emails

The current system is embarrassing. Either they have to find an old email (which often they can't) or they have to go to a form, which requires sending them a form, which requires them filling out and seeing an unintuitive bit of text (which is clickable but doesn't look lie it) and clicking that to be sent another email which contains a way of unsubscribing, rendering the submitting of the form you sent them redundant. Many people will click submit on the original form, thinking they have now been resubscribed, but they haven't been.   This needs to be rethought.

Thanks

I spoke with the PM working on it. It’s still incredibly clunky

The red text to re-subscribe only appears if a user is unsubscribed from ALL emails.

But if a user is unsubscribed from one subscription type but is still subscribed to another subscription type, the message doesn't appear.

So our client has no possibilities to subscribe! Please fix.

+1000 in 2024 for a path forward on this issue. Two years into using hubspot, and this is a remains a painpoint for our organization. From a customer service perspective, the person submitting a form on our website - especially if that form has a clear request to join an email marketing list, like 'sign up for our newsletter' - is essentially sent to blackhole, were it seems like as an anorganization we are not responding to their interest in hearing from us.

We were hopeful that the form resubscribe functionality would provide some flexability here, but were very disappointed to learn that it fundamentally doesn't work for organizations like ours that use a subscription-based model.

WE need to be the ones that can resubscribe an individual. Often our users find that they are unsubscribed and would like us to resubscribe them. There needs to be a simple and quick way to do so across all the categories.

this is a ridiculous pain point for existing customers. I have to resubscribe over a million email addresses from another platform I am migrating from, and this user experience makes it next to impossible to accomplish any significant resubscription.

please fix this soon, because it directly impacts our ability to raise revenue!

upvote . So important.

the current process is not optimal for simple management of the subscription by the customer.

Add the ability to subscribe or unsubscribe the customer via API as part of a NON HubSpot form integration

This is absolutely a necessity to make email subscription function smoothly.

A client is having the same issue as @YiRui_Chua mentioned. They have contacts who have only opted out of some of their subscriptions types trying to opt back into a content stream they previously unsubscribed from via a form. Because they are not unsubscribed from all, the link to recieve the resubscription email does not appear. The contact submits the form (in our case a request to view a case study) and then does not receive anything due to the fact that they can not recieve the email the form triggers. This is a poor user experience AND puts the burden on the hubspot user to manually manage subscription types.

Definitely need to revamp the experience for resubscribe. Reading through most of the comments, the pain points are pretty clear.
It would be helpful to have a way to make the URL to the email preference page. A way for us to serve the option up to people that return to our product. Currently we have no way to do this without requiring a person to jump through all the hoops of finding an old email OR sending to a form with an explanation (because it isn't obvious) to click on the help text after entering the email, to then go to their inbox to then click on an email to finally get to an email preference page - all of this isn't going to be done by anyone to opt back in. Pretty sure we would lose them at the first instruction.
