You’re a Developer, Made a Tool? Follow These 4 Ways to Promote It!

解決

As a developer, creating a tool is one side of the story, but promoting it effectively can be challenging. Here are four practical ways you can promote your tool and get it in front of the right audience:

  1. Leverage Social Media Platforms
Social media is a powerful tool for promoting any product. By engaging with your audience on platforms like Twitter, LinkedIn, and even TikTok, you can showcase your tool’s value. To reach a broader audience, consider creating short demo videos or engaging visuals that highlight your tool’s core features.

  2. Partner with Influencers
Influencers in your niche can give your tool significant visibility. By partnering with tech bloggers, YouTubers, or social media influencers who have an audience aligned with your tool, you can gain exposure through authentic reviews and testimonials. This builds trust and encourages users to try your tool.

  3. Create Useful Content
Publishing how-to guides, tutorials, and case studies around your tool will not only educate your potential users but also improve your SEO. Think of your blog as a platform to address pain points your tool solves. By positioning yourself as an authority in your field, people are more likely to discover and use your tool.

  4. Optimize Your Landing Page
Ensure your landing page is optimized for conversions. It should clearly explain what your tool does, who it’s for, and the benefits it provides. A call-to-action (CTA) should encourage users to try or download your tool. Make sure to also focus on SEO by using relevant keywords and linking to useful resources like this one for users who want to download TikTok without watermark musicallydown .

By using these four strategies, you can significantly increase the visibility of your tool and encourage more users to engage with it.

Thank you @LKisra

I agree and...

  • Social Media has been a successful channel for my app Portal-iQ and my agency Webalite.

  • Partners have been amazing with Portal-iQ (so much that I'm realigning the app exclusively for partners).

  • And, I've found presenting on webinars and podcast to be a great way to reach more people.

Looking forward to hearing other what other creators @HubDoPete @Jonas_De_Mets have to add?

Cheers

Mike

Thanks Mike,

Also, be present in the forums where people who need what you do tend to hang out.

For example, I have found it valuable to participate in this HubSpot Community and solve problems related to my areas of expertise, such as Configuration, Pricing, and Quotation (CPQ) in the HubSpot sales process.

In some cases, our apps such as DoPricer CPQ and DoCurrencies (free) are valid ways to solve the questions being asked. Or it might require other tools I know well such as the new PandaDoc CPQ,

Sometimes no additional tools are required, just information on what is possible with what the customer already has, such as Operations Hub custom-coded workflow actions or Custom Quote templates. HubSpot UI Extensions have opened great flexibility to solve problems right inside HubSpot too.

I like to focus on and explore ways to solve people's problems. By focusing on their "nail" instead of my "hammers".  I enjoy it when people try use the tips that I have shared and can see these solutions in the context of what they want to solve.

That's what makes communities like this so valuable, helping people solve problems and also ultimately creating better tools.

Just as your contributions here are valuable Mike, what you know about HubSpot Portal Audits is without peer. Thanks for the tag!

best

Pete

Thanks for bringing this thread to my attention @Mike_Eastwood!
Don't forget to list your tool in the HubSpot Marketplace would be my main addition.

Next to that I agree with Mike and Pete their input.

  • Social Media (mainly LinkedIn) is working well for Koalify.
  • Online communities (mainly Slack) are interesting as well.

Focus on adding value for your end user. By answering their questions, providing best practices or point them in the right direction.

Hope this helps!
