I achieved several HubSpot Academy certications while working for organization I no longer work for and would like to certications transfered to my personal HubSpot account, but I know longer have access to that organization email account. How do I transfer the credentials w/o access?
Credentials achieved in old account include:
Contextual Marketing Certification Course
HubSpot Marketing Hub Software
HubSpot SEO
HubSpot SEO II
HubSpot Inbound Marketing Certification
I have the crediential ID's listed on my LinkedIn account.
This will require you to directly contact HubSpot support, and also, I would recommend that you get approval/consent from your previous organization to do this. If HubSpot Academy certifications are not important to your previous organization because maybe they're not a HubSpot Partner or are not interested in showcasing those credentials anywhere on their website or marketing materials, then they may be very flexible. Assuming you get consent from them, you may proceed to:
Reach out to HubSpot Support: Since you no longer have access to the old email, you’ll need to contact HubSpot Support directly. Explain your situation clearly—mention the certifications you earned, the old email address, and your new personal email address. Include the credential IDs from LinkedIn as proof of ownership.
Provide verification: HubSpot might ask for additional verification to confirm you’re the rightful owner of those certifications. Be ready to share any details you can, like the approximate dates you completed the certifications or screenshots of your LinkedIn credentials.
Request a manual transfer: Once verified, HubSpot Support can manually transfer your certifications to your personal account. This process ensures your hard-earned credentials stay with you, no matter where you work.
Overall, remember that it's important to get consent from the previous company since, for example, if they're part of the HubSpot Partner Program, certifications are showcased in the Solutions Partners directory profile, and, furthermore, depending on the contract you had signed with them, any innovations or achievements you obtained while being part of their organization will most likely be part of their intellectual property now.
I had a similar case, earlier in my career, I helped a B2B marketing agency achieve 10+ certifications, but as I went onto another role, I had to transfer those certifications to one of their business emails, and, ultimately, I re-did all those certifications from scratch on my own. So, while it's a bit of a pain, it's better to be on good terms there.
In the end, you may have to re-do all the certifications once more, but it will be worth it, you've got this!
