Marketing Software - Errors when attempting to create a blog.

Hi Guys, 

 

I am trying to complete the Blog section of the  course, but everytime I try and create a blog I am getting an error message:-

This is the final bit and really want to pass but I am getting stuck. 

 

Can anyone help?

Hi @SHawkins4,

 

Thank you for reaching out to the Community! 

 

There are 2 things we can check:

  • Do you have the right permissions in your HubSpot account? Additionally to the Marketing permissions, you would also need the "edit website" permissions, which you can find on the Account tab in Settings.  A super admin in your account can make changes to your user permissions.
  • You're not required to set up a blog for the purpose of this exercise, you just need to create a single blog post. If you navigate to Marketing > Website > Blog, please click on "Create" in the top right corner and not "Set up a blog".

Thank you so much!   That was the issue. 🙂  I was trying to create a blog instead of just a blog post and I needed my permissions changed. 🙂

Hello,  I created a blog post - but it shows up as a landing page - trying to finish my certificate.   The page is at:  Content Details | HubSpot  does this qualify has a blog post?

 

We will not be using the blog feature at this time.

I just realized it was my doing - pleae dis-regard above link.

 

This is a test blog page - more to follow at a later date (cal-cert.com)

Also, I don't have a drop-down option when hitting 'Create'

@SHiggs thank you for the screenshot!

I've checked with our Academy team and it is not required to set up a blog in order to complete the HubSpot Marketing Software Blog exercise. You just need to create a blog post, so let's just confirm that you did the following in your account: 

  1. Click on "Create" on Marketing > Website > Blog. If you don't have a drop-down option there that's alright. Screenshot 2021-04-29 at 13.48.24.png
  2. Choose a template.
  3. Name your blog post and complete all required steps before clicking "Publish":Screenshot 2021-04-29 at 13.48.52.png

Hi Mia, 

 

Thank you for sending these ideas through. 

 

  1. My access seems to be fine, with edit access in 'Account' settings. 
  2. I have followed the steps in the knowledge centre
  3. Finally, I have tried using a different browser 

 

I am still experiencing the same issue and really want to complete this course as I have passed the exam 😞
