HubSpot Academy Exercises - Does this affect my actual account?

When completing HubSpot Academy exercises, do these tasks affect my actual HubSpot account? For example, for the exercise, "HubSpot Academy Exercise: Manually Create a Contact in HubSpot," will the contact I add here be added to my company's actual contact list? Or is it simply for an example?
