Confused about fining cluster subtopics vs long-tail keywords

From the "Building Your Own Search Insights Report" course, video 5.

When it comes to using ahref's "having same terms" feature, is that for looking for cluster subtopics? Because that's what I thought it was, but then she says "look for keywords with MSV of 50-200. Keywords with an MSV greater than 200 should have their own post." Which implies that the keywords that I'm supposed to be looking for with msv of 50-200 should NOT get their own post, so are those just long-tail keyword? If so, how would I find subtopics?

Confused about fining cluster subtopics vs long-tail keywords

Hi @PKelly-Voicu,

Thank you for reaching out! A keyword with 50-200 MSV should get grouped under a cluster subtopic (think of it as a sub subtopic, or a long-tail keyword you'd target within a larger post). A keyword with 200+ MSV is a subtopic, meaning it gets its own post.

I hope this helps!

Best,

Cristina

Hi @Cris ,

these numbers may vary according to the country you look at, right? Our numbers are way lower when I select Germany, for example.
