Certificate Ownership: Business or Personal Affiliation?

Is the certificate linked to the business or my name? I'm about to start the HubSpot certificate course, but I just want to know if it will be associated with the business or my credentials. Additionally, can I still claim completion of the course and ownership of the certificates if I leave the company?

Certificate Ownership: Business or Personal Affiliation?

Thanks for posting here @heybeans - your academy progress and certifications are tied to your email address, which is generally associated to the account you're using to complete the courses. If you ever lose access to a HubSpot account that's tied to the email you used to complete your courses or has progress still associated with it, you can follow these directions here.

  • To transfer certifications to a new email address, the old email must still be active and the new email address must be associated with a user in a HubSpot account.
  • Expired certifications will not be transferred.
  • Depending on your HubSpot subscription, some certifications will not be transferred. For example, if you're a user in a Solutions Partner account, partner-specific certifications will not be transferred to a non-partner account.

  • In your HubSpot account, click your account name in the top right corner, then click HubSpot Academy.
  • Click the My team tab, where you can view the certification status of all users in the account.
  • Locate your existing email address. Click the Manage certificates dropdown menu under the email address, then select Transfer certificates to a new email address
  • In the dialog box, enter the New email address to transfer your certificates to, then click Transfer.
  • Review and confirm the certificates that will be transferred to the new email address, then click Yes, transfer.
  • You'll be redirected back to the My team tab with an in-app message: "We've sent an email with a link to [new email address]. Click on the link in the email to confirm your address and finish the transfer."
  • Navigate to your new email address inbox and open the email with the subject Transferring your awards. If the email does not appear in your inbox, check any Promotions or SPAM/Junk folders.
  • In the email body, click Confirm email address.
  • You'll be redirected to the My team tab in the HubSpot Academy, where the certificates will now be associated with the user with the new email address.

    Take care,
