Non-hubspot CTA

resolver

Hi,

we want to track our e-commerce CTAs with Hubspot although the site is created outside Hubspot. I know that we can use the code for each CTA but we would like to keep the design that is created for each CTA that has been developed for the ecommerce. Any sugesstions?

many thanks

The CTA just creates a tracking link with a stylized button.  If you look at the embed code you can just grab the tracking URL and not use the button and that will work.  Alternatively you can create a tracking URL within Hubspot: https://knowledge.hubspot.com/settings/how-do-i-create-a-tracking-url .  Both of these work in a similar fashion whereby the user goes through a redirect link like bit.ly or a similar service and that link click is tracked and the user arrives at their destination.

However, something to think about is what you are hoping to get out of it.  Sometimes the experience of this type of redirect may not be ideal depending on the setup of your e-commerce platform. You might also want to consider simply tracking events within your analytics platform, or looking to integrate the Hubspot events API ( https://knowledge.hubspot.com/events/create-custom-events ). This is definitely more advanced, but sometimes when dealing with an e-commerce platform you may need to consider this option for a seamless integration.
