There is currently no way to permanently disable email tracking for a given web domain. This is a major problem because:
we really do need email tracking for prospects
we simply must switch off email tracking for colleagues, suppliers and exisiting clients - because a typical user gets hundreds of such notifications pinging off every day. This renders the tracking feature almost useless, because you can never notice the notifications you actually want, and end up disabling the feature entirely because it's driven you nuts.
People have been complaining about this in HubSpot forums since at least 2021. The existing options/workarounds are insufficient.
deselecting the 'track' checkbox - this has to be done for every single email, for every single individual - even if you email the same person 100 times a day you have you deselect this box every time. Clearly this isn't an acceptable effort for users
blocking IP addresses - nobody can ask all their suppliers and clients for their IP addresses and maintain this ongoing. IP addresses change regularly and with most people working from home nowadays this is a completely unachieveble admin effort
never-logging BEFORE your first-ever interaction with a company - not realistic, because people are nearly always prospects in the CRM before they're clients, so again, you need a way to toggle tracking on/off for individual domains at scale. This also doesn't answer the use-case of users scaling their usage of HubSpot through the business - whereby you'll probably never get a complete historical record of all the domains you need to never-track.
Please fix this! It seems like such a simple improvement, and right now it could genuinely be the thing that prevents me getting a client to move onto the paid version.
As this is a user to user forum here the only thing I can recommend is to head over to the ideas board and upvote similar ideas or create your own to get that in front of the Hubspot team. Unfortunately posts here won't gain as much momentum.
