Tasks not properly assigned when created from email

Hello 

I have the Chrome extension and it works really well in Gmail. 

One thing that makes me wonder though is when I go through the following steps (from Gmail): 

  • Create a new email to an existing record in HubSpot 
  • Tick the Log and Track checkboxes 
  • Next to the send button, click the Hubspot icon and create a follow-up task
  • Send the email 

The task gets successfully created in HubSpot but is assigned neither to the (existing) contact not company from the email. 

 

Is this a bug or intended behavior? 

 

IMHO it would make perfect sense to have it directly associated with the records you are logging in the email.

Thank you for reaching out. 

 

This is expected behaviour. The tool should create the task in the Task manager, however it will not associate the task with the contact, you will need to do it manually. That said, I totally understand your end goal as well and I'd recommend posting this idea in our Ideas Forum that our Product Team monitors regularly!
