I have a few questions regarding the GMail Sales Extension. I have 4 questions I hope somone can help with.
1. If a contact that is already in my HubSpot sends me a cold email, will the extension automatically log that first email to their Company (using the Domain) in HubSpot? Or do I have to click "log" in the extension in order to log this. I believe I have to click "Log" but wanted to clarify this for all new inbound emails I receive.
2. If I send an outbound email to contact's email that I have in HubSpot, and I don't click on Log, Will this get logged into HubSpot? Assuming the answer is no, when they reply, will the extension automatically log their email to their contact card activity and company activity card in HubSpot?
3. I have a contact that is linked to muiltiple companies. For example, the contact is a contractor and I want him linked to every company he helps me with, including his own. I have him linked to Company A (his Primary), Company B (Secondary), Company C (Secondary). If I send an outbound email to him with reps from Company C copied, and only want to track the email to Company C in HubSpot, I would click off Boxes (Company A and Company B). When he replies back, is it possible to get the reply to show ONLY on Company C's Activity? Or if he replies, will that email get tracked to his primary company (Company A) and Company C.
4. Going off my 3rd question above, if we continue to reply back and forth on the same email chain, will all replies ONLY go to Company C's activity (Email Tab)? Or will the replies overide my original set up I made in the extension? (Clicked off Company A, and Company B).
1.) No. The extension cannot log emails that come from your contact to you unless you forward them to hubspot using a forwarding address. Replies to your emails will be logged as will emails you send.
2.) No, you must have log checked for Hubspot to track it. Further, HubSpot will only track replies to logged emails, so if you don't log the initial send, the replies are not tracked either.
3.) In this scenario, you would have to remove the associations to companies A and B manually after the fact. There is no way to prevent this association beforehand.
4.) Replies will most likely be logged to all three companies every time, and it will be necessary to remove the associations manually if you do not want them there.
